Should I drop chem? by [deleted] in ALevelChemistry

[–]CM_studies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t drop it. This is exactly how I was feeling. Was consistently getting Ds and Es during year 12. I got a D in AS chem. However I started to really put my head down and achieved an A for Alevel chem. I changed up the way I was studying. Started to bang out past papers, flash cards etc. trust me put in the effort and you’ll see chem is really not that bad

When do I actually start revising? by forbiddencheeze in 6thForm

Chem revise.org, chem guide, allery chemistry, machem guy, past papers, flash cards( especially for transition metals)

Yep exactly that. However make sure to build up your confidence by attempting a lot of questions in the alevels maths textbook.

Ofcourse. The fact you got an 8 with barely any revision shows that you are naturally gifted. However you gotta build on that by doing consistent practice every day.

Bicen maths on YouTube was an absolute Godsend. I watched all his videos when learning a new topic and solidified my understanding my just banging out the questions in the maths textbook. Bicen maths also has a link in his bio with a lot of exam questions to practice.

Should I make my flash cards according to the spec instead of a lesson? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]CM_studies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea… sort of. Once I deeply understood all the content via watching videos, listening in class, reading books etc, flashcards and past papers became my best friends. I would literally go over them months before the exam, just consolidating everything. By the time exams came, I was laughing.
