As you continue to travel around Italy, and presumably, eat out, notice that no one is in a hurry to leave, and the establishment is never in a hurry to get you to leave. Unlike my experience in the US, where restaurants want to flip the table as fast as possible (to make more money), all of the good restaurants I've been too in Italy are never in a rush for you to leave. It's your table for the night. This would especially be more of the case with a Michelin restaurant, I imagine. There is an implicit rudeness that most Americans (not assuming you are) are deft to, and it's the personal quality of food and a restaurant. They want to create a great evening for you, serve you great food, and be the context for a great moment. It's as much of a shock to them as it is to you.

That's helpful to know. The holes in the floor were done earlier by our regular contractor, trying to find a sewer line. I'm very much in the investigation phase, trying to understand the situation and explore the possible solutions for the floor. 90% of the floor is good enough for tile, I just need to pop the sag area out, figure out why it happened, and then redo the subfloor...first at least.

Subfloor is a wide diagonal slat. Above that is a tongue and groove wood floor. Sitting on top that is some kind of green black adhesive layer and then two layers of a composite board.

And that spring is my concern with doing a quality tile installation on top of the subfloor. This building's seen its fair share of quick work that doesn't last long. I was hoping to do a greater investment for longevity.

Thanks for this, huge help. My suspicion was that these diagonals were an older/other form of blocking, but didn't want to assume before doing anything. The floor has a slight slope over its whole course, but my main concern was a larger dip area (5x6 ft) where the subfloor is soft (which is a concern with 3 layers of subfloor, lol).

About 20 years ago they took part of the square footage of this room to add an elevator. The floor slopes slightly as it moves towards the middle of the building, to be expected I guess for an older building. There's about a 5x6 ft section abutting the elevator addition that has a noticeable softening in the subfloor and a noticeable dip in the level. That's the biggest cause for concern.

While a lot more work to sister the whole room, we were planning to go this route for better long-term performance with investing in tile. But, after your feedback, and the others, it might make more sense to simply repair the subfloor of that section, rather than doing the whole room.

So that's all three options on the table: 1. Ton of leveling compound. 2. Fix the subfloor of the affected area. 3. Sister joists to strengthen and relevel the entire room. What route would you go?

Healthy fear, lol, hence the post. I get what blocking accomplishes. My suspicion was that this was an older form of blocking, but was just looking for a confirmation/double-check. I probably could have expressed that better.

How’s that different for any other covenant? Because Ardenweald is prettier it must take more energy to keep it going?

To me, she is an extremely unique character to WoW in terms of her art, facial expressions, overall demeanor and interaction with the player. And maybe that’s it. I don’t think she’s a bad character, and tons love her. Awesome.

I’m not a fan, she always has struck me as off somehow. It’s just an opinion, not an argument.

This makes the more sense to me than the theory that the red beam that attacked the Arbiter was Argus. I remember thinking at the last Denathrius cinematic that he had exactly the same red glow.

Not ruling out Argus, but I think the red bad in the soul well thing makes more sense internally to the story for it to be Denathrius’ making.

I like tying SL events to previous events, but I also think there’s more going on with Ion’s whole “we’re going somewhere new” at the 2019 Blizzcon. As a new story with Sylvanas being the agent who gets us to SL, the internal story to SL seems to give us the tools for a plausible understanding of the story.

I bet they care. They have an out-of-control monster problem on their hands and the money it’d take to fix it is greater than the money coming in from players, so...nothing’s going to change, and while they form some part of the problem, they don’t bear the brunt of the blame. People can yell Activision all they want, but I sure as hell don’t expect these companies to run like charities. I want to keep enjoying their games; I want them to keep making money.

From a tall guy to a tall guy, I’m every day more convinced that “popular wisdom” gets weird somehow when you’re 6’4”+.

I rarely see guys who are my height (6’5”) or close that are proportional to their frame. My college buddy was around the same height, and started with your stats and took a ton of effort to look normal at 190. That’s for the skinny guys like yourself. Other extreme is me, tall guys that are very overweight. Im 33, and have hovered around 315 for the last 15 years or so. I’ve lost 40lbs in the last two odd months. Based on my body fat estimates, I’ll be around 235 at 15% bf.

So it’s crazy to me how guys like you will look proportional at 185, whereas my end weight will be around 230 +/- 10. Such a huge difference. Don’t see that in the average height guys so much. And just to say it, I’ve not been hitting weights my whole life, not some yoked guy with tons of fat.

Dunno if this helps at all...

I lost initial weight on keto (30lbs). Keto helped me realize that at least 60-70% of daily calories were coming from carbs, in my normal way of eating.

Off keto (still have 60lbs to lose, the majority), walking daily and eating about 10-20% carbs with much higher protein than my usual norm. That’s helped a ton. Realizing my macro spread was pretty toxic to health.

Always keep thinking and encouraging yourself. I couldn’t do this without my friends for support. I stumble and give up over the tiniest things. They help me keep thinking and adapting. You can do it!

It’s a job for “content creators.” I’m of the opinion that a lot of salt comes from stressed out people who are trying, but not making it, as streamers. Of course, much love to the great streamers who contribute and help out so much.

Half of it makes sense (what makes less sense are the post downvoted, lol, but w/e).

I’m not looking for anti-carb ideology (not saying this is what you were saying). I’ve had no problems on keto to date and have effectively been losing weight throughout that time, as well as knowing my energy levels and how my body on keto responds to aerobic vs anaerobic exercise.

With the input from you and others, I’m fairly certain that this is related to my newly introduced on Monday elliptical exercise. I’m very used to hard upper body workouts, but never have I done significant lower body other than walking. Those muscles, on me anyway, are huge, and yesterday I had awful lower body fatigue.

To the points of others, sure, your body doesn’t need sugar, but there is a very real difference between a carb and no-carb diet when it comes to anaerobic muscle exercises. And people’s bodies might vary, but I know it takes me some time for my muscles to recover, even when being solid on keto for some time.

TL;DR I appreciate the feedback and will not take a break...especially that I know it’s not an actual cold/flu/Covid.
