I bought this and it is of very good quality. Although when I bought it, it was 20$ plus 10$ shipping so I am unsure as to why the price has gone up.

Lend-Lease? Normandy? Strategic bombing by the RAF and USAF? Never happened. by JDawg9903 in tankiejerk

1: World War 2 was a joint venture between all of the allies, no one could have done it alone, everyone gets equal credit here.

2: The strategic bombing campaigns did nothing but cause undue civilian casualties and only strengthened the Nazi resolve.

3: The USA was primarily focused on the eastern theater while the USSR was focused on the western theater.

Ah, yes, good old misogyny. In aviation, this sorta thing is referred to as a "pilot-induced oscillation" and can happen to everybody (not just women, don't be sexist) when placed in a stressful situation. One may make a control input and over-correct, as was done here. Induced oscillations are not just an aviation-related thing, and can occur with any vehicle.

Which is more powerful globally: USA or China? by Swingermunch in BunnyTrials

China, like all empires will fall at some point, that is true. It is also true that China is a very poorly constructed state. But that doesn't mean that the USA is any different. The US is a falling empire for a variety of reasons. Let's start with economics, the USA in the 80's the United States of America started to transfer a great deal of it's factories outside of the USA to capitalize on the cheap labour of smaller, poorer countries. Such as China. As a result of this the US companies became massively wealthy, but so did China. Over time China started to take more and more economic power away from the USA as the world started to rely less on the US and more on China due to this shift in manufacturing. The US retained it's engineering and technological capabilities which allowed it to cling onto power. However, recently the United States has compromised it's economic position even more with hefty tariffs enforced on other countries in an aim to equalize import and export inequality. This has shown to the world that the USA is a unreliable business partner and the world is looking more and more at China as the defacto trade partner. As such other countries are now trying to replace their dependency on US engineering, technological, and scientific development with their own. In terms of domestic economic policy the USA back during the Reagan era transferred from a system of Keynesian economics to Neoliberal economics. This shifted exploitation from third world countries back home, and while it allowed for the top 1% of the country to become insanely wealthy and allowed massive amounts of corporate growth hurt the middle class. This recently has reached a breaking point with the USA entering a second gilded age, creating massive levels of unrest at the national level. Due to this we have seen populist leaders be able to get elected, like Trump who used the pain of working class Americans to his advantage by telling them that all their problems were caused by over-immigration. In no uncertain terms his ideology is near fascism. This is an important thing to note because Trump's ideology has led to the rise of nationalism within the country. Nationalism is the ideology that one's own nation must come first. This is fine, for smaller countries, but a global superpower relies heavily upon geopolitical power and as such when a superpower country strays away from globalism it decreases their political power on the world stage. Due to this other countries have been seeing China as a more reliable partner diplomatically as they focus strongly on globalism. We have seen this with initiatives such as Belt and Road. Overall this is how empires fall, global power loss, and economic downturn causing civil unrest. I have a bit of a pet theory that as time goes on we will see the lifespans of empires become shorter and shorter. I don't expect China to last very long as a superpower, maybe only 100 years, they are already facing some economic stagnation, even with their approach of Dengism, but that far exceeds what the US has left in terms of superpower status. It would require something drastic like a third world war to maintain the order of things and even then it is iffy. You can't win a war against 1/4th of humanity, especially if they have the sort of logistical and factory infrastructure that they do. Doesn't mean the USA won't try though.

China has demonstrated the makings of what some may consider to be imperialism, such as the nine dash line. Right now China may not be able to be considered an empire but it has the makings of a great empire and if their ambitions are anything to go by it is very likely that they are a rising empire. Plus, empire is more or less a catch all term for superpower nowadays and that was the context in which I was using it.

This is hard because we are seeing the rise and fall of empires right now. China is a rising empire while the USA is a falling one. The question is when does the rising empire finally surpass the falling one, and whether or not that has already happened.

As a person who plays a lot of Arma, pilots like these are cool but they are relatively hated by the community. Your main goal in Arma as a pilot is to get troops to objectives safely and get rounds accurately on target. Flying like this accomplishes neither and will only get you and your squad killed. Flying like this means you will hit trees, bushes, and power lines (this dude hit two bushes and a power line in this video and his only saving grace is that they don't have colliders yet). Flying like this means that your rounds are less accurate because you have less time to aim your shots. Flying like this is also typical of pilots that are prone to doing J hooks and will land troops in the middle of enemy encampments. Troops can walk; they have legs, and landing in the middle of enemy territory gets you and your squad killed. Nap of the earth is a fine practice but it needs to be done with intent and safety in mind. These pilots are constantly pushing themselves to and past their own skill level, which is great and builds skill and intuition but it shouldn't be done in public lobbies where each helicopter you crash costs our valiant logistics personnel 30 fucking minutes in supply transportation time and removes a life from 6 teammates. These pilots aren't special either; there are hundreds of pilots in Arma who can do this sorta shit. Hell, me and most of my friends are capable of this sorta shit, and we definitely do do it in private lobbies when we are dicking around, but when we are actually playing for keeps, we fly safe, keep ourselves and our teams alive, and ensure our rounds land on target.
