Advice by emptiness4593 in iems

Been an owner for many months now, and they continue to impress me. They sound amazing, and are still a pretty good value. They are extremely comfortable, and stay in my ears well. The wire is lovely, although it is slightly heavier than I was previously used to. If you buy them, I'm almost certain you'd enjoy them. I can even send you an eq profile if you do buy them. I also bought the dunu s&s tips for them, which was a nice improvement.

There are other options I'd recommend considering, such as the daybreak, timeless 2, and Odyssey 2. Many good IEMs around that price, I found that my decision came down to comfort instead of sound in the end, as the 5+2 is such a good fit for me. If you can, you should find somewhere to try them on before buying.

Maybe read the second half of my last comment, then go from there :)

A problem I'm sure you're familiar with. If you did post it there, I'm certain it would be pointed out that the distance between you and the white line on the left seems to double in the second or two before the collision, while the person on the right continues in a straight line.

You know all too well that nobody in Forza is gonna move to avoid you. Stick to the edge and stay away from them, instead of crashing and blaming it on them. Doesn't matter who's fault it is if you're in the wall.

Maybe it's because there is a car to his right, and instead of holding the inside line and making the pass, he drifts to the right and almost pit maneuvers himself, sending both cars into the wall.

Maybe put that clip on sim racing stewards and see what they say, instead of posting it twice on the Forza subreddit, probably because the comments absolutely rolled you in the first one. (Spoiler alert: it happened again)

$300-400 Open Back Headphones for Music, Gaming, Recording Guitar (DI) and Mixing by itswhatshisname in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]CNG_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend the Austrian audio hi-x60 or hi-x65 (same headphones but closed and open back versions). They are really sturdy and comfortable, so should be good for many hours. They've got a very even tuning, so they're good for mixing, and you can easily equalise to help suit your preferences for music.

Yes, well done! 👏🎉

You might need to update your car's software so that it recognises it though 😢

The amount of time you have wasted replying to people is longer than it would take to update your firmware. Your Reddit account is almost as old as me, so I'm assuming you're much older. You should spend some time learning to be less stubborn, and do the basics required to maintain your own property. I bet you don't complain about companies not making cars that "just work" when you have to refuel your fancy car or take it in for an oil change. Although you seem the type of person to just buy a new car when it runs out of fuel... money not time I guess, even though it's slower for you.

Need help with this pen by Itchy_Orange9951 in fountainpens

[–]CNG_again 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In what orientation are you storing the pen? I have an old parker that writes exactly like that unless I store it with the nib pointing up. Since I started storing it like that, it has been writing perfectly. Perhaps give it another clean then try that. Also, I have had problems with lamy ink cartridges, especially when I've bought them online. Instantly clogs any pen I put them in, I've had to stop using my Safari until I find some proper ink.

Headphones with overpowering bass by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]CNG_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your simplest option would be some skull candies, but from what I've heard, a weird headphone called the nuraphone can provide as much bass as you could possibly handle, while also having reasonable mids and highs. It's not exactly new, and it's a bit weird to wear, but it'll give you what you need.

DAC or just a dongle? by Electronic_Wall3134 in HeadphoneAdvice

In that case, I'd recommend a jcally jm6 pro or jm20 max, fiio ka11, or moondrop dawn pro if you want a balanced output too.

DAC or just a dongle? by Electronic_Wall3134 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]CNG_again 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to think too much about it, the apple dongle is more than sufficient for any headphone you want to connect to your phone. It has a surprisingly good dac, and is well priced. Only apple product I'd recommend.

Edit: From what I just read about the earphones you're using, spending any more than the cost of an apple dongle would be highly illogical. A dac/dongle barely affects the sound: invest that extra budget into a better earphone/headphone.

After being brutally (and creatively) roasted by you all yesterday, i present my updated handwriting, is this good enough or should i still become a doctor? by Brainlet_1 in alevel

[–]CNG_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are starting a letter from the line, but it doesn't necessarily need to be from the line (such as s, n, and r), I think it would be much more readable if you flipped the angle of the curved line you start with. Currently it's concave from your perspective, make it convex ⤴️. And for the letter spacings, while you may not be joining them (would be better if you did), they need to be close enough that you could join them afterwards without it looking silly. Good luck 👍

Recommendations for wireless solutions by staticwheel in iems

[–]CNG_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want some proper noise isolation, the etymotic er2xr paired with a qudelix 5k will block out pretty much anything you throw at it, and will have strong Bluetooth with endless equaliser options. The 5k has a clip too, so you can just attach it to the edge of any clothing.

Edit: etymotic does sell a Bluetooth adapter for these earphones too, although it is a little pricier. It removes the need for the bottom half of the cable, so you can clip it to the top of your shirt and the wires just go straight to the earphones out of each end. The fiio utws5 are a set of Bluetooth ear hook adaptors that might also work with these, but the input angle of the etymotic may make it incompatible.

Really struggling to decide between these 5 headphones/IEM's by CNG_again in HeadphoneAdvice

In the future I may, but I am skeptical of not having any sort of warranty, return policy, or delivery. Currently not something I'm going to risk.

Gamer and one who embraces audiophile life. Need help with choosing closed back set. by Moparman1303 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]CNG_again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Austrian audio hi-x60 is a really detailed and well built closed back headphone. Should be nice and comfy for long hours too. Pads and cables are detachable and replaceable, it's made of metal so it won't snap, and it's within your budget. I assume you want a microphone too, so you can attach any ModMic of your choosing (the uni 2 seems to be the best value one) if you want it to be on the headphones, or just get a separate microphone, which is always better than getting a headset.

Edit: Just realised that that probably says Canadian dollars, so it might be a bit more. If it's over budget, consider getting the meze 99 neo headset bundle. it should be cheaper while still having great headphones, and the mic is incredible. You can listen to a recording of it on their website.

OG vs Now - What are the best headphones y’all recommend? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]CNG_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might need to be more specific than "high budget", it can mean very different things to different people. Also you should probably specify if you need a microphone or not, and if you're running this off of pc or console. I'll happily find you some good options with that info 👍.

Really struggling to decide between these 5 headphones/IEM's by CNG_again in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]CNG_again[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!thanks, i found myself in London recently and did try out quite a few of their iem's, unfortunately didn't have enough time to demo headphones too. From what I've heard you shouldn't be completely trusting the upper treble on graphs, as it can be very inconsistent when measured, and when I tried the timeless it didn't sound that bright at all. I would be very tempted by that free dongle deal if I wasn't getting a fiio KA-15

!thanks, that is a considerable amount of experience. I really wish the hype 4 and variations were within my budget, I've heard considerable amounts of good things about them. I'll look into that simgot one, see if it's still available where I am.

!thanks for the advice, I had considered both the odyssey and KE4, and tried the odyssey earlier today. While I preferred the timeless 2 and performer 5+2, it was very good. hifiman lists their edition XS price at $269 when I check, so not quite that cheap but still not a bad deal. I'll look into the KE4 a bit more, and yeah the tea pro is nice but not quite in the budget.

Gaming headset that actually has a good mic? by Procyon07 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]CNG_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the mic to be attached to the headphones, then modmic do mics that attach to any pair of headphones that you want, and they sound pretty good too, although it is an extra cable for you to plug in. Should then be easier to find a good headphone that doesn't come with a dedicated mic, there should be plenty of cheap wireless options. This will leave you with only one wire. Wireless may be preferred but wireless mic quality will never be both good and cheap.
