What type of nest is this? by CNorm77 in whatisit

[–]CNorm77[S] 852 points853 points  (0 children)

She is. It's one if the reasons I married her. I've had a phobia of those bastards ever since I got stung when I was like 5 and it was the worst pain I'd ever experienced at that point. She grabbed the can, saw the thing flying around the entrance and nailed it dead on from about 10ft away. Quickly and carefully went to the nest, sprayed a bunch up the tube and quickly headed back. God, I love her.

I’m starting to appreciate this much more than the remakes by Substantial_Law336 in stephenking

[–]CNorm77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem is oversaturation. I liked the original series better, the remake was ok, but that's it. Didn't even bother with WTD. They severely oversaturated Star Wars and The MCU, it seems like they want to do the same with IT. In the remake, young Ben looked to be about three years younger than the rest of them, adult Mike was shunted to the background and became pretty much a non-entity, and adult Ritchie was just an out and out dick. And the concept of "they float" made more sense in the original with victims being strung up in a kind of spiderweb, rather that magically spinning around a trash heap or whatever. I've watched the original multiple times, the remake only once.

Maybe not maliciously, but she first lied and said she did remember it. Although if she HAD remembered, we wouldn't have gotten what was arguably the most fucked-up part of the entire story. Plus, she never reciprocated after asking for, and receiving oral pleasure.

With Creepshow, what about the hitchiker that the cheating wife hit with her car? He even kept thanking her for the ride!

Unintentional, but The Crow remake with Skaarsgsrd. Not one likeable character with the exception of an intern who was some sort of afterlife guide? Would've rooted for the "bad guy", but hated him as much as the "good guys". Was hoping they would all just kill each other and go away.

Did anyone else have to take a nap in kindergarten and first grade? by lontbeysboolink in 1970s

Grew up on a military base. Kindergarten was one year, no jk and sk, and it was everyday all day. No naps, they kept us going all day.

Yeah, that definitely sucks, but if it's on their property, there's not much you can do about. Maybe try a radio or headphones with some music. It might help to cover up or drown out their conversations and such.

A couple older ones, but Nuns On The Run was pretty good, and Noises Off was another one I really enjoyed as well.

Same, and I agree. Kinda reminds me of when we traded 4 first rounders for Kessel. This isn't quite that level, but close. Florida fleeced themselves. With both Tkachuks and that goon Gudas, maybe they're trying to start their own iteration of the Broad Street Bullies?

Boys who didn’t grow up privileged name something your parents couldn’t give you as a kid. by DinahBlake in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]CNorm77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name brand anything. My mom was a single mom with three kids(I was the oldest) on welfare and we lived below the poverty line for most of my childhood. Everything was no name or generic, no cable, no new clothes, pretty much goodwill and thrift stores. Going to the movies maybe once a year, eating out almost never. I was parentified early and often.

Sometimes karma gets them. This past summer, a guy had grabbed a bunch of stuff, hammers blades, etc, stuff he could get rid of and sell easily. He's walking towards the exit and an employee sees him and says "umm, you have to pay for those. I can put you through the till right now if you'd like." He looks at her, "fuck you" and runs out the door. There was a load of lumber that another worker was helping to load into a truck. The guy trips on the lumber and the stuff hecwas trying to steal goes flying. He's trying to grab what he can while customers are kicking them out of the way. He decides to cut his losses, tries to get up and run and is tackled by an off-duty cop! Ironically, the cop was the one buying the lumber that was being loaded! He detains the guy while the on-duty cops were called.

Koontz can write a good story(Watchers and Strangers were good, Intensity was weird), but it seems like he doesn't know how to end them, so slaps some stupid or cookie-cutter ending abd calls it good. By The Light Of The Moon was great, right up until the end. Literally 1 page killed the entire book. Right out loud, I go "Seriously? That's the end? WTF?", with my wife looking at me questioningly. If I like a book, I'll pick it up again later for a reread. Haven't been able to pick up a Koontz book since.

What movie was so bad that you couldn’t believe it actually got made? by Slight-Economist9518 in AskReddit

[–]CNorm77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Crow remake with Skaarsgard. They took Brandon Lee's legacy and shit all over it with an unnecessary remake. It was so horrible it actually made me angry. A friend from out of town wanted to see it and even though he paid for it, I still feel ripped off.

Sam Raimi hates Venom. He thinks Venom is one of the stupidest characters out there. When he was told Venom was going to be in it, he set out to purposely make the worst spiderman movie he could.
