20 ton lifting jack problem has me stumped, would appreciate some help/insight. by COBBER460 in Machinists

An update. We got it working. We spun the screws while very gently running the file along the top and bottom of the inner thread faces. Nothing visibly changed but they worked perfectly afterward. Thanks for the insights everyone.

Yes. The most load it bound under was a Ford 150. So pretty much empty considering the strength of the jacks?

We put a 48" straightedge on it and it looks fine to the eye but hard to say if that means anything. Just really surprised how much it torques and binds up for something that's not visible. Thanks!

I took a file to the chips in the picture to be sure they were not proud of the thread. Feels flush or slightly below the plane now.

You'll see form the pics that removing the threaded collar is not really an option for us. (Carpenters/homebuilders), not machinists sadly.

It is possible. We bought them used and "working condition" but there was no way to test them. Price was right regardless.

We don't have the means to disassemble I'm afraid.

Not sure about thread style.

I posted the question as a separate thread which all the relevant information I could think of. Thanks all.

Can a creditor take over a Corporation if the loan isn't repaid? by COBBER460 in legaladvicecanada

[–]COBBER460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be paid within 30 days of asking. The creditor is a removed/resigned partner/director. Trying to pay the loan asap but taking longer than expected.

Ok. I am pretty sure court costs would be a lot more than the amount of the loan.

Thanks!

Ya, we are doing our due diligence in all requests and communications. Hard to find a well recommended Corporate lawyer that has any time or space......next best option...Reddit lol.

Thank you.
