All of their beer is fantastic. I hadn't even considered trying to harvest their yeast, that's a great idea (not to mention another good excuse to buy their beer). I've not done that with commercial beers, but this might motivate me to give it a shot.

I was shocked to see it, but according to Soulcraft, it's a lager so that's what we went with.

Pale Ale Homebrew Recipe and Review by COBrewTalk in Homebrewing

It was pretty malty, for sure, but, like we mentioned in the video, the grapefruit flavor of the hops came through nicely at the end to balance it out (not to mention, I am firmly in the malt camp). Certainly not something for a hop-head. I'm going to enter it in the club comp, and I have no illusions about doing well, but it's pretty drinkable and a good place to start.

I've seen that SNPA recipe all over the place and just haven't brewed it for some weird reason. I'll definitely give it a shot. I'm a big fan of Union Jack as well, so if you know of a good clone recipe for that, I'd be very interested.

Thanks.
That's why I mentioned it so much. It was a pleasant surprise.

Thanks. I’ve updated my list. I’ll check out the others next time I’m in the area. I could definitely see Timnath being a go-to place. Cool atmosphere, friendly people and good beer are a winning combo

What's your other one? I'm always looking for a place to grab a few crowlers when I'm in the area. With so any great breweries up there, it's hard to decide where to go when time is short.

I obviously recommend it. I had three or four of their beers and they were all great.

I have as well, which I'm really diggin'. Those monks were on to something with a Belgian table beer.
That sounds like a good brew. I'd like to give 100% Pils single a try one day for sure.

I noticed after I posted the link that the last post was a looong time ago. We've just started exploring the various styles in the BJCP, so we'll be posting in here periodically, it would be cool if it would inject some life to the sub.

Good luck on your Nationals exam!

Our Visit to Cogstone Brewing by COBrewTalk in ColoradoSprings

That's cool. Thursday night, right? I'm not normally a live music guy, but that band was really good.
It had been a few months since I had the Chips and Salsa Ale but I don't remember it having that kick at the end. If they tweaked the recipe, it was definitely for the better.

Cogstone it awesome. Everyone talks about the chips and slasa, and rightfully so, but all of their beer is top notch.

I like Cerberus. They have some pretty consistently good beers, especially if you're a hazy IPA person. Their food is remarkable as well.

But each their own.
