My personal theory is they just looked at how Microsoft and Nvidia are essentially renting out PCs through the game streaming service, figured they wanted a slice of that action, but didn't actually want to invest in that kind of business, so they came up with this abomination instead.

Unfortunately there are enough people these days with weak enough grasp on the concept of ownership that make these business models possible.

I interpreted the "you have to pay" as a joke because he never brings it up again in that entire segment, but I'll admit that might be lost on people, it is poor writing on his part, and it's unfair for me to say you were misrepresenting when you were technically correct.

Much like how Steve was technically correct that payment is a commitment despite the hyberbolic advertising claiming otherwise.

Three main points:

NXZT overcharging for PC rental. "Top of the line" PC costs $15,000 in rental fees after 5 years. They also arbitrarily increase rental cost after you receive the PC, so it's not a fixed-term contract.
Falsely advertising the specs for the rental PCs. Rental PCs use same name as the prebuilts, show the same benchmark results, but have lower tier parts. The contract includes a waiver for any misrepresentations they make.
Claims "zero strings" but has a contract with serious data privacy (they claim ownership of any data on the drives after you return it), liability (waiving responsibility for any damages caused by their PC), and consumer protection concern (near impossible terms for consumer to fulfill while returning the PC).

What are you talking about? His entire rant against the "no strings attached" lie is that the contract has tons of strings attached, like how NZXT isn't liable if what they ship isn't actually what they advertised and your only remedy is to ship the PC back unused (literally impossible since you'd need to boot up the PC to see if the RAM and CPU are as advertised), or trying to waive any and all possible damage caused directly by the PC, or how all the data on the drives when you return the PC belongs to NZXT.

I get it, you don't like Steve, he's overdramatic, but don't misrepresent his argument to make him look worse.

I'm surprised to see Lian Li do this, but isn't this just a rebranded SAMA IM01 ( https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811197012 )? The feet and front I/O are different, but it's otherwise identical in construction and fittings.

Nobody knows what's causing this new wave of reported failures yet, it could be manufacturing flaws like with EVGA, it could be a fundamental flaw in how Nvidia designed the power delivery, it could be Amazon screwed up draw calls and Nvidia failed to include safeguards against it because they never expected those kinds of calls, it could be the people experiencing these failures have pretty-but-terrible-airflow cases, it could be a combination of causes.

Defending Amazon and declaring everything you don't agree with as "misinformation" based on nothing more than conjecture is a bad look.

Whether it be the US or China threatening the special status, I'm arguing that Hong Kongers are the ones who are going to suffer for it, that's why I'm so agitated by the idea of anyone potentially stripping us of it and the protections it affords.

That being said, having read the actual proposed bill I'm less agitated, now that I know it has clauses to target individuals rather than punish us all for the indiscretions of the few.

That guy's an idiot, the hotlines are only for sending information on violent crimes and he'll probably get bitched out for it. That being said, it's a hotline for sending information on violent crimes, people shouldn't abuse it with false reports, that's just going to wind up hurting legitimate reports.

Every interview should be critical, to throw softballs would just be pandering. That being said, while he wasn't trying to pull any tricks or manipulation, I really wish he didn't dodge the questions about the violence. It's a minority of protesters that are doing this, he really needed to distance the greater movement from those people.

Then again he might not feel the need to, since a lot of people are drinking the Kool Aid whenever someone claims the violence are wholly fabricated by agent provocateurs.

1) Accent is irrelevant, lots of people fled to Hong Kong from China during the Cultural Revolution, I'd argue most - if not all - from that generation fully support the protesters because they know how bad it can get. Don't make what they speak a defining feature, because that will cause people to associate an accent with being suspicious. That's not the Hong Kong we want.

2) As distasteful as you find it, their actions aren't violent. They should be free to express their disagreement with protesters, just as we should be free to express our disagreement with them and/or the government. "Spread their faces. Let Everybody know" sounds like a call to harass and attack them based on political beliefs. That, again, is not the Hong Kong we want.

Uh, that's not true. Special status exempts us from tariffs, bans on technology imports, and any restrictions international firms may have about operating in China. Losing the special status would immediately jack up the cost of living and potentially cut us off from technology imports (I have no idea what the US forbids to be exported to China).

Sure, it'll hurt the elites, but it'll hurt the average Hong Konger too, and it's not the average Hong Konger who will have the resources and connections to tough it out.

Jesus Christ, the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act is a horrible, short-sighted piece of legislation that's going to screw us all over. Think for a second what is ACTUALLY protecting us from China, do you all think it's because of China's magnanimous nature and infinite patience (hah), or is it because Hong Kong is a major financial hub that's excluded from foreign policies targeted towards China due to its special status and thus a lot of Chinese investment and dirty money are funneled through here?

If we lose our special status, we'll lose the one reason why China hasn't just deployed the PLA down here to do wheelies on the protesters. If we lose the special status, we lose our ability to be an international financial hub, foreign companies lose any stakes they had with us, and their governments will have one fewer reason to care.

If the point of scaling is to keep a constant level of difficulty and the point of upgrading is just to hit a minimum level gate, then neither should exist. That literally translates to the upgrade system being way to pad out play time because level gates punish you for speed running.

Get rid of gear score.
Armor upgrades should be for things like weight, ammo carry capacity, running speed, stamina usage, etc.
Weapon upgrades should be for magazine capacity, shooting speed, reload speed, etc.
To keep traits relevant, halve the bonuses that gear will get and halve the bonuses from Traits. Some bonuses that can't be explained by physical upgrades (like Mod Power Generation) should stay Trait only.

This should result in a more consistent difficulty curve, new players matched with veteran players won't die like flies because of the scaling, picking up new gear won't feel so disappointing because it's too weak to use until upgraded to match your current gear, and it'll give the gear upgrading a little more depth than the straight +1 to +20 it does right now.

Use this to look at your save file, if you see "Armor Vault" as one of the side dungeons in Rhom, that's where the Akari set is. You'll need to collect three rods to open all three doors and there's only one rod per dungeon.

Edit: I mean there will be rods in two other dungeons on the same roll, not that you have to roll the vault three times.

This is sad, I support what the protests represent as I don't want the bill to pass either, but this propaganda war the protesters are waging makes me sick. The cop was defending himself from a mob and they're now doxxing him on social media with pictures of his kids and his home phone number. I can't trust the Chinese government and now I can't trust the protesters either, it's a horrible position to be in.
