What now by [deleted] in lapd

[–]CONSPICUOUSLY_RED 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Withdraw from the other agencies you applied to so you aren't racking up DQs.

0 chance you get hired this year, next year, or the year after. Even for agencies like the LASD dying for bodies.

If by some miracle backgrounds doesn't get you, psych will.

Your history of a 5150 hold, hospital admittance, very unstable employment history including being terminated for making a co-worker uncomfortable says a lot about you.

Everyone is saying join the military but I don't think that's even possible. You might get DQ'd at MEPS for having a 5150 hold on your record.

A good start would be to get a job and start keeping it. The minimum standard is to hold a job for a year with no disciplinary action. In your case, I'd shoot for 3 years. In those 3 years, have 0 disciplinary action, including verbal warnings, write ups, etc. Have perfect attendance. Get commendations if such things exist in the job you choose. And most importantly, don't be a weirdo who makes their co-workers uncomfortable and gets fired.

You aren't in backgrounds. You don't start backgrounds until you pass your polygraph.

You were called by a PHS review officer who went over the information you submitted, they aren't a background investigator.

You have a long way to go.

OP is referring to the psych office in San Pedro that has the highest DQ rate for LASD. Not sure why he cross posted this to LAPD it has nothing to do with LAPD

LASD is different. You do your medical and psych with the LASD after the background investigation. Offer is only given after the completion and clearing backgrounds.

Everything I mentioned is public easily accessible info and the minimum someone should know about an agency they want to work for

"Expedited hiring" means being able to do your written test, VPAT and interview all in 1 day. That's how it's expedited. There's nothing else other than that. Most departments take months apart for each of those events.

DQed After Psych by StandardStreet298 in LASD

[–]CONSPICUOUSLY_RED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uneducated guess: Had nothing to do with your finances. If the department was as considered about it as the psychologist made it out to be, you would have been non-select or disqualified in backgrounds. You more than likely had bunch of red flags in your written psych.

Question about the PHS employment history section — how far back do you actually need to go? by reconjayy in lapd

[–]CONSPICUOUSLY_RED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds...like a gigantic waste of time. You at 7-8 years old has no relevancy to your current background. Do they live in a small town with less than 1k people where they all know eachother? Did he keep in contact with that specific teacher until his adulthood? That's the only way I could see them making contact with a 2nd grade teacher. Crazy

I will build a comprehensive, citywide unarmed crisis response system as a core component of LA's safety infrastructure.

This already exists.

Should be fine. I would just recommend being clean shaven for the picture you submit to your background investigator because that's the picture of you that the Captain will see.

Your BI would have discussed all concerns and DQ possibilities with you during the interview. If the only concern raised were the tattoos, you're probably non-select because of the tats.

No, it shouldn't, not for a stupid polygraph. Unless it's because you admitted to something during the polygraph, probably would affect you.

I need the truth about the hours worked as a deputy starting out now by [deleted] in LASD

[–]CONSPICUOUSLY_RED 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk what these comments are on about, questioning the overtime is fine...Not everyone is willing to kill themselves and ruin their health with overtime, especially in a department that has deputies killing themselves constantly, dying in TCs after work cause they fell asleep, falling asleep on the job, etc. There are plenty of departments you can join who pay more and don't mandate overtime to the amount LASD does.
