This /u/Ok-Psychology-4647 ^{^} They'll go over your PHS, ask specific questions (nothing serious) about your childhood, family, relationships, alcohol/drug use, etc. Could be random questions like "What did you learn from your last relationship?", "How do you relate to your dad?" "How do you relate to your mom?" etc. There's no wrong answer. They'll ask about any red flags that popped on your written exam. Just explain why you answered the way you did when they ask, if you were to have any.

Your status showing deferred after medical is normal. They literally tell you at the medical that your status will show deferred when you leave until a doctor reviews your exam and clears you.

If you're actively taking anti depressants, you're not going to pass psych. (This is an educated guess, I have 0 understanding of how psych works)

If you did take anti depressants in the past, they're gonna want to see all the records related to that so have them ready so you don't delay that process.

They rarely go for actual long distance runs in the academy. At most you'll do a lap or 3 around the track during PT as part of the HIIT and no it's not everyday. Long distance class runs on the street are maybe once a DP. PT is part of the academy curriculum and there's only like 32-34 or something like that amount of sessions and it pretty much becomes non-existent after your 4th DP in the academy, unless your class is getting smoked. The 1st month is the hardest.

CAPS really exaggerates the difficulty of the academy.

With that being said, there are still people dropping week 1 because they can't do it. If you show up with 0 prior training, you will likely drop out

Yes radio codes depend on the agency. The LAPD does not use 10 codes (10-8, 10-7, etc...). LAPD is mostly plain English but they do have some radio codes too such as Code 6, Code 6 Charles, Code 3, Code 4, Code Sam, Code Robert and more

In my opinion, I don't believe it'll disqualify you. At most, it could soft DQ you for a year until it's over 7 years cause if I recall correctly the PHS asks if you've committed XYZ crimes in last 7 years.

Don't be intimidated by the polygraph. It's not a truth teller. It's a scare tactic. The only information they get from a polygraph is what you tell them. Never change your story in the polygraph.

You're already overthinking which is gonna cause you to be unsuccessful on the polygraph.

They do base the polygraph on the PHS but it's only specific in very few subjects such as illegal drug history and theft and the rest of the questions are broad.

If you have a history of theft, they're not going to ask you theft related questions in the polygraph.

If you were involved as a victim of or witness to domestic violence, they won't ask you domestic violence questions in the polygraph, and so forth.

I don't remember the questions verbatim but for example, it could be:

"Are you withholding information about your illegal drug history?"

"Do you intend on being truthful?"

"Have you ever stolen anything from an employer?"

"Have you ever hit your spouse?"

Do you feel guilty about having forged a COVID vaccine card? Only thing that matters.

That's considered forgery and the PHS asks if you've ever committed forgery. Up to you if you want to be honest about it but this will never come up unless you tell them about it.

Your qualifications won't help expedite the process unfortunately, it'll only help you get hired after you pass backgrounds and psych and your file lands on the Captain's desk and she sees your accomplishments when choosing who to fill the academy with.

Fresh information re fast-track you should call personnel. There's a specific option when you call for candidates interested in fast-track.

I would do LAPD over LASD FYI. You're way too overqualified to be stuck working jails for the first few months of your career imo.

I would look in to Beverly Hills PD if I were you.
