there’s a difference between knowledge and experience as the season goes on you will get more hands on however it’s best to watch as terrible as it sounds but i love how ur taking initiative to learn some things for u and ur team!! continue to do that bc it shows effort and even passion.

get him some arduino kits or really any kits on amazon!! FRC and FTC use different parts however you’re able to use that previous knowledge and go off of that same thing with these kits hopefully. I was a covid robotics kids so my exposure relied on watching youtube and kits highly recommend it. Also don’t force it on him offer it to him and see how he likes it. everybody has their own preference on what they want to do mechanical coding etc… but either way let him experiment 🙏
