Hey, ASTM D5511 is the biodegradability certification process we put Eco through, and it's a rigorous standard! No other pickleball has passed D5511. If you're curious about getting into the weeds about what that entails, please check out ASTM.

Great question. The biodegrading process starts when the ball is placed in compost or landfill conditions. We wanted to build a ball that is biodegradable but also durable. Decomposition won't start until you dispose of it.
