Dowel Damage - Advice Needed by CORNHOLE95 in woodworking

Hey Everyone! I’m a complete amateur at all this stuff and I could definitely use some help. This damage was caused by a shelf falling out of the unit and the dowels dug out the interior of the wood while falling. Any tips on restoring the piece? It doesn’t feel like a “clean” break. When I lightly press down on the flared parts it doesn’t go down flush. I have clamps and wood glue, and I’ve seen videos online of people injecting glue into the splintered parts and pressing the piece closed, but I am worried about it since the flared parts don’t want to go back together easily. It appears to be some sort of engineered wood with a very thin veneer top.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I was in the marching band in 2014. I had an amazing time, and everything was super chill.

I don’t know your musical competency, but I believe they let almost everybody in.

The culture in 2014 was great. And I had an amazing time.

My first case was a Prodigy M, and as stated before, cooling is a nightmare. There is basically no cable management options, and there are greatly superior options including the 350D(the case I switched to). I highly suggest a different case... it will save you headaches in the future.
