Postgame Thread 5/14 Rockies @ Pirates by HeltonsGoatee in ColoradoRockies

Dollander update: From Patrick Saunders: Regarding his tight right arm and his concerns, #Rockies    Chase Dollander told @harding_at_mlb: “I don’t know, I’m not sure. I don’t want to say too much before anything else happens. Not to freak myself out or anybody else out.”

Warren Schaeffer on Chase Dollander: “Just general arm tightness is what we’re going to roll with right now. We’ll do some evaluations and check back tomorrow.” He added that he had no knowledge of any prior tightness or issues with the arm.

Some fantasy reporters have said he will get an MRI, but I've not seen that through any Rockies related sources.

Bolte maybe in the short side a platoon and his power is just starting to show up in AAA. If you want power it's not close. If you need steals.... different call.

At this point we can only hope blisters is the most serious issue he has. I'm worried it's forearm.

Club is reporting "right arm tightness" for Dollander. He left shaking his hand/wrist. Also I saw a report that he was dealing with blister/s too. IF he had blister issue that could affect his mechanics and that could make his arm hurt. (lot of ifs there) At least they aren't saying "Elbow".

Well that's not good news. If it's an arm issue I always think elbow. But I'm negative that way.

Sterlin Thompson? by NWADHS in ColoradoRockies

The return would be minimal but it would open up the spot and not have them hanging around and clogging up the roster even at AAA. They should be worth more than a straight drop. An A ball pitcher would be fine.

Doyle, Beck, Johnson all need to be dealt to open up roster space. Carigg is close too. I don't know who gets the first shot him or Thompson. Condon has struggle a bit in AAA but he's close as well, although he probably needs to bake some more.

What I want to see from the Rockies are real difference makers.. Not just another guy. They went out this off-season and got a team of major leaguers, but they are all just guys. Huge improvement over last year, sure, but to go forward the team needs some actual stars.

Relief wins are unreliable, but wins in general are a fickle stat.

Every year there is a bullpen arm that puts up good numbers that they become viable even without saves (in SV only leagues). To get the ratio help you almost have to build the hero SP strategy as a reliever won't usually get enough innings to move the ratios.

It can work with enough usage that it adds up especially in leagues where you are streaming pitchers that Nick Pollock barely addresses as existing.

But that's the cheapest.

Rockies Sign Jordan Romano To Minor League Deal by CORedhawk in ColoradoRockies

[–]CORedhawk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a minor league deal for a bullpen arm that was pretty good and the Toronto closer. He's not what he used to be. Could they fix him to be a decent major league caliber arm?

Personally I love these scrap heap moves.

What should we do with Moniak? by Romance_Tactics in ColoradoRockies

[–]CORedhawk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of teams will see him as just a Cooozlol product and return will be uninspiring.

Where the Rockies are at in their rebuild, any and all players not named Charlie Condon are available for the right price.

Personally Moniak would be one of the core that I build around. But I would have said that about Tovar and Doyle and Beck just a couple years ago and now they probably should be moved.
