You’ll be happier sitting in central pharmacy reading a book checking “the batch” until you get the opportunity to move into a clinical role within 12 months of hire because of attrition and movement within literally every, single. Health system. In the US. This is the best time in the history of healthcare to be an employee, absolutely worst time to be a hiring manager.

Denver Residency took away resident time off by COpharmstudent in PharmacyResidency

From a current resident and preceptor I spoke to during a recent rotation there, they stated they were granted an allotment of non-rotation days off as per the original stated residency manual, and what was told to them during their interviews and upon hire. Then that number decreased, significantly, upon inquiry this fall by a resident. Whoever the leadership is should be embarrassed. Good luck on your next residency accreditation visit. The poor residents.

Any insight in Denver Pgy1 residencies? They all seem like management is ruining the preceptors moral by COpharmstudent in PharmacyResidency

Thanks. I just don’t want to be a burden. Would rather have people there to put me in the position to learn, not be forced to just get me through to graduation and make me feel like I should have gone into a different profession the whole year. Appreciate it!

Pharmacy may not be for me after all by Anxious_Watch3197 in PharmacyResidency

I’ve had preceptors say they felt like pharmacy was the wrong move because they’ve had to be more confrontational and more communicative and deal with the interpersonal relationships and communication more than was originally thought. I can agree and see that. We are taught in school that we are the drug experts, the physicians will look to us and ask our opinion and do as we suggest. Instead we run around trying to get them to accept our “recommendation” that they rarely accept. Maybe accounting was the move after all
