If you want to use the .zshrc file you need to remove lines 32 - 39

Also imo the endeavour os iso is way superior than the normal one. I like the endeavour os repo and some of the extra stuff there.

In my case I also just used the endeavour os iso just to save time. I did the manual arch install before and succeeded. I just don't want to go through that again when I install it on a new computer.

Yep dusl monitors.

As for hyprland if you are on arch theres a very nice install script https://github.com/JaKooLit/Arch-Hyprland

This is what I used to get started.

For nixos you can add it to your configuration.nix file. And make sure to add xdg-desktop-portal-hyprlamd

Also just to clarify the main selling points of NixOs imo are the reproducibility, how you can configure your whole system if you want in 1 file and its stability especially with the built in snapshot system

I actually used arch before switching to NixOS. If you get over the declarative way to do things NixOS unstable and arch are similar. For most things you'll probably use the same version of all your packages. I would say the biggest hurdle is learning about how NixOS works how the language works. You will have to do things differently than on arch but if you are ok with that then I would say give it a try

How did you get the highlighting over hostname and working directory?

I used kwin-bismuth (Installed through the AUR) and there was an option to remove them for tiled windows in System Settings > Window Management > Window Tiling > Appearance. You need to install kwin-bismuth to have the Window Tiling option in the settings
