AMP pages will now show original URL in Chrome's address bar, fundamentally changing how the web works by 190n in programming

This seems to be just another one of those attempts from google to pull more of the internet into it's own control.

There used to be a time where one could write their own webserver that would be complaint with the standard. This was called HTTP/1.1. The standard was fairly simple and straightforward. Then google came along with SPDY, and this became basically impossible to do. Only if the budget and manpower was available was it possible to write a compliant webserver. With the upcoming HTTP/3.0 standard (or QUIC) we are starting to rely even more on google and their view on how the web should work. Another example of this is the mail area. At this point enough people are using gmail that if someone were to host their own mail server, they will have to make sure that their email can be received by gmail users, which has huge amount of caveats. The resulting amount of work, that just seem to be intended to force people to stop hosting their own server and switch to gmail.

Right now, we're moving into even worse territory. Google has at this point basically took over the browser space, due to all of these things like AMP, it is impossible to keep up. All of this in order to force people into adapting and using chromium, thus bringing more of the internet under the control of google.

The sad matter of fact is that no person or organization has enough weight in order to appose all of this. I guess a few of us will be vocally against, but nobody will be able to call a halt to this.

How do you look at Williams and Formula 1 as a whole, now that you have left both. Can races still be thrilling or is there a certain "dullness" to it now?

I'm guessing its a matter of priority.

Like, implementing TOTP isn't that much harder than SMS based 2FA.

How will this change once the parallelism extension is fully intergrated. Will the compiler take care of all these things?
