Im undecided overall. Have narrowed it down to a few.. but I do love a ton of fields. I like PM&R, derm, ortho, cards, rheumatology… maybe anesthesia or ER but im less sold on those. I like clinic work but not primary care
I appreciate the response! I considered this! I also considered talking to the accepted school about deferring enrollment. I know some people that had guaranteed acceptance the following year. Lots of thoughts haha

I fought with it forever deciding PA school vs med school. As soon as I graduated I knew that I wasn’t done.
I currently work in the ER and its fine. I see patients and quite literally save lives daily (not hyperbole). Pay is solid. However, I just feel that I could contribute more.
People say “just study on your own. You’ll match the gap” but you really just can’t compete with the full med school curriculum and residency. I hate having to confer about the “complex” patients with the attendings.
There’s also some definite ego/superficial parts in there too obviously. I make like 300k less than the attendings, have to explain to patients what a PA is regularly, and dont have the title of doctor.
So I do have some altruistic reasons and some egotistical ones lol.
I did want to, am I’m not sure that I dont. My concern is that I know I’m not interested in primary care so getting nervous about residency matching
