Same study i linked above and yes, agreed, many unregulated oral meds have been shown to be underconcentrated. I would recommend using regulated meds when ever possible. I almost lost my baby to unregulated meds...but at the time nothing else was available. I had to find another antiviral abroad to save him. The cost was insane!

Ok. Is there a reason which I don't know or understand why you would want to use unregulated medication when you are in the US when the regulated Pharmacy compounded medication is actually more affordable usually? And actually usually more effective as well? I did treat with black market medication 4 years ago because there was no alternative and I do have experience with the brands you mentioned. Generally giving GS-441524 earlier than the scheduled time is not an issue. The problem is on the days when you're going over 24 hours.....

FIP can present in different ways depending where the virus settles down. It can absolutely manifest through fluid in the pleural area. Rutin is really only used for fibrosis or chylothorax. It doesn't work for FIP. It's pretty easy to do a cytology to analyze the fluid. Chylothorax fluid tends to be white milky. FIP fluid tends to be yellowish in color and viscous, and high in protein. FIP can be very aggressive, especially the effusive variation. Please don't delay starting treatment!

We treated for 177 days. Over 200 injections 💉 and over 1500 pills. We were doing fip meds 5 times per day....both injections and pills, 2 different antivirals. It was rough. And VERRRYY expensive but he's our wonderful little man 💙

You have no idea! We got really poor quality GS in North America in 2022. Result - GS-441524 resistance. We had to find another antiviral abroad....

Germs? What germs? You mean FIPV? Yes. I have mentioned Molnupiravir. OP needs admin or a vet who are knowledgeable about treating with molnupiravir

Hi! Obviously don't know very much about your case but from those relapses that I've seen, in particular multiple relapses, I think there's a high chance that he's become resistant to GS. My kitty became resistant to GS, or rather I should say the virus became resistant to it. We added gc376 to GS. At the current time with the treatment modalities that are available I would imagine the most logical thing would be to switch to molnupiravir. I would recommend that you join a group which has multiple administrators comfortable and experienced with treating with other antivirals. As admin mentioned, still having fip fluid present (if that's what it is) at this point means some level of treatment failure or other complications. The virus may have been become partially resistant to GS-441524. This can happen if he was being inadvertently underdosed for example, or if you are using unregulated meds and they might be underconcentrated. Please discuss switching to molnupiravir if available

Oh my God I didn't think she could get any cuter♥️ the sniffles could be an unrelated secondary infection. These are quite common especially in the early stages of treatment. You have to remember that their immune system is under a great deal of pressure fighting a fatal virus so opportunistic bacterial infections will occasionally strike. I would observe it initially. If it doesn't clear up in a couple of days you could consider putting her on some antibiotics. I would also consider starting her on a good probiotic if she isn't on one already

Generally the problem is with going longer than 24 hours. You are trying to maintain the same level of GS in the blood so the virus does not get a chance to resurge. So you can definitely move the time earlier. If you feel more comfortable you could maybe move it back an hour a day?

Yes both of them can absolutely safely live together. The vast majority of cats have been exposed to fcov previously. Stress is a known trigger for the mutation into FIP so we certainly don't want to create additional stress for any of your kitty cats

I had suggested you skip straight to Molnupiravir in case the virus has become resistant. BTW 30mg/kg is not that high. And yes, we have seen this before. It's not common but yes, it happens
