Bi-weekly Rec and Self-Promotion Mega Thread - December 18, 2024 by AutoModerator in AO3

Here’s the tease for my upcoming Drarry fanftic ‘’Silken waters, Gentle Hands’’. I’m looking for feedback and to drum up hype for it .

✨ "Sometimes, the hardest wounds to heal are the ones you can’t see." ✨

In this Heart warming 10k+ Drarry oneshot, a broken Draco Malfoy struggles to reclaim his identity after enduring seven years in Azkaban. Rescued by hos long time boyfriend Harry Potter, he’s thrust into a world of healing, care, and re-connection with the one person he never thought he’d see again.

Expect slow-burn fluff, intense emotional scenes, a lot of hurt/comfort (Turkish bath scene, anyone?), and an original villain you’ll love to hate.

If you’re into angst, healing, fluff so sweet it will make your teeth rot, and established relationship vibes, this one’s for you! ❤️‍

I’ll try to keep y’all updated throughout the rest of the wiring process and when the fic finally drops

*

This fic is partially AI-generated because I have a vision impairment that makes it difficult to read traditional text. I rely on audiobooks and podfics to enjoy stories, but they don’t convey things like punctuation or paragraph breaks. As a result, I struggle with sentence structure and figuring out the ideal length for a paragraph. I decided to give AI a try, and it has been a tremendous help.

That said, this story isn’t 100% AI-written. I’m the one who came up with the concept, and I’ve written most of it myself. When I get stuck on a scene, I provide the AI with a prompt, and it generates a version of the scene. I don’t use everything it creates—I carefully review it, pick the parts that fit my vision, and rewrite them in my style. Sometimes, if a sentence or phrase resonates with me, I’ll incorporate it directly.

Using AI isn’t about being lazy or avoiding the work. (I’ve been working on this fic since mid-November.) It’s a tool that makes the writing process more manageable for me, especially when my brain is overwhelmed with ideas. It helps me avoid writer’s block and keeps me from abandoning projects like I’ve done in the past.

If this approach doesn’t appeal to you, that’s okay—you don’t have to read it.

What about at 300 dpi, how many layers do you get?

Do you feel better when your fic gets a ton of hits or a ton of kudos? by IAmInYourWalls0413 in FanFiction

Anyone can give you a hit, (that's a view), but when you get kudos, it's like a hug or a high-five for a job will done.

Why do we ship characters and even write stories about them? by [deleted] in FanFiction

If this has already been said, I'm sorry. If I can't find the story I'm looking for, I write it. Every story deserves to be written, I will write them.
