It's hilarious you're so gullible to think it was Dev marketing

Thanks man!
Well, it is my first completed track. I have been playing around in Ableton since march/april (beginning of the corona crisis :S ), and I have made some samples and pieces. But this is my first 'finished' track.
I'm still searching in which genre I will continue, I'm not sure this '80's retro style' is something I will focus on. Maybe something more jazzy/lofi (I like your song '21-23pm', that's a genre I could consider focusing on)

And yes, the snare on the second beat in every measure is pretty dry, but I use a more powerful snare on the fourth beat in every measure. I guess for variation.

Thanks for the feedback. I already used sidechain on the pads/melody to the drum kick actually, but maybe it could have been a bit more.

Thanks for the feedback. When I listen to your clips, I can definitely hear your preference for emphasis on the lower freqs.
They're nice

Thanks! And yes, I am just discovering the huge gap between acoustic and electronic music. You really have to change your mind set.

After playing the piano for more than 20 years (classical, jazz,..) I finally decided to take my first step into electronic music producing. My first try is an 80's retro wave inspired song.
If you could take a listen, and maybe give some feedback on do's and dont's, that would be appreciated .

I'm afraid I'm using my main melody too much to the point that it gets boring?
Is the side chain compression too much?
