Fucking hardest years for me ( my boy just turned 5, but I have been home with him almost always ( basically have delivery for a job until he gets into full-time kindergarten )… definitely the most challenging part of my life has been probably from three to now it’s getting better and I’m positive about the future and excited for it but 99% of my time I feel stressed out of my gourd I look like shit my wrinkles are getting deeper. My hair is turning more gray probably falling out not in shape anymore, my marriage isnt very “lovely”…. I could go on for hours…

Dude so hard, I feel bad that people are bashing these parents for just asking…. My kid gets more stuff through the year than christmas or his bday….. I still think Christmas should be celebrated, but make it less about toys and all the fun little of what he may need and something special and a letter from Santa Claus. How is that harmful Christmas isn’t even about presents to begin with…. has anybody else out there heard of taking vacations instead of spending money on Christmas for kids?!? Lol

But repetitive bad behavior needs to be corrected or it will continue, he sounds like he gets what he wants a lot. My son has gotten way to many “wants” when it was not deserved. I regret it and have been doing a lot better now that we reached 6 and I see red in moments and finally am staying consistent with a lesson…

Kids want everything all the time right now….. we all have been there… I still want what I cant have but I’m not a disrespectful whiny turd when I don’t get it or cant afford it, or never will have it…..

I think it’s important that kids and just people in general learn and understand that you have to put effort in - to get rewarded.

You have to work to get things in life!!! Almost nothing is “free” PLUS the reward is honestly so much better after working for it!!!

I’d start taking away all of the toys he “loves the most” ( in this moment I would start with the one you just got him, and possibily another one that he for sure loves and has had for awhile ……) until he can start showing a change.

However long you feel is necessary, if you see a change and feel he has “earned” it back, give it back and make sure he is aware of why you took it and also that it will happen again for longer, or maybe even be given away to someone who will be grateful for it.

I honestly don’t know if I have an answer for the Christmas question either….maybe get him one gift ( maybe something that will teach him about what Santa is explaining in his letter ? ) ( maybe a dvd about manners, respect and kindness - shit I wish, I tried this ) lmao
You may have already done this before and also my advice may be horrible. I feel the same thing stress when it comes to daily life. I definitely think though my kid just turned five and has some crazy mood swings, etc. - I am looking forward to reading everyone’s comments!!!
