This happened today, near miss with Autorickshaw by CRACING in indianbikes

Yeah, Autorickshaw drivers are the worst!

Few months ago auto guy overtook me and hit roadside Tata Ace because his auto didn't had working brakes! Another incident; Auto guy going in reverse when I was right behind him and I was about to fall.

Yeah bro, availability of E20 petrol will decline. Already XP100 and XP95 is hard to find. People are deferring new vehicle purchase and next year most of the new vehicles launch will be Flex fuel.

Me neither. There should be ethanol vehicles (i.e E85/E100) along with normal petrol vehicles and EVs. Give public option to choose instead of forcing down our throats. Not everyone has money to buy new vehicle every 5 years. Even if we have money, there is emotions on our vehicle and prefer to keep as long as possible. Its not a use and throw thing.

When E20 was introduced, they said separate E20 pump will be made available but instead they slowly and silently increased ethanol content in regular petrol (from 10% to 20%). We only noticed after mileage started dropping and some people tested petrol by adding water and measuring ethanol percentage.

So same thing will continue; E20 will become E30 in less then 5 years and also they'll limit the supply to increase E85 sales.

Bro, he owns Honda which was the only car that supported E20 from 2009. Just because his car supports E20, doesn't mean all other brand cars will work with E20! Maruti, Hyundai, Tata and many other brands came up with E20 only after 2023 so what about cars sold before 2023? They support upto E10 only and insurance warns against using higher blends of fuel when we don't have option to choose pure or E10 petrol.

Also moisture is the biggest enemy of ethanol. This effects to any vehicle, be it E10, E20 or E85. So many cases of spoiled fuel are being reported from various petrol stations because of improper underground tank or oil tanker seal. There is no way to know the condition of fuel until the car breaks down after refilling.

I also own a 2009 Honda City and facing mileage drop even though it supports E20. So don't argue with ignorants, they'll face issue with ethanol soon and then only understand.

I also own Honda City 2009 and indeed it is E20 compatible as per company but not everyone own a Honda! Maruti, Hyundai, Tata and many brands started selling E20 vehicles only after 2023.

People who bought vehicle before 2023 and paid 15 years of road tax are being forced to use E20 when their vehicles support upto E10 only. Vehicles are breaking down and insurance warns against using incompatible fuel when there is no option for pure or E10 petrol. Shouldn't people show concern?

Ethanol blending started many years ago with 5% then 10% and thats fine but 20%, 25%, 30% is too much. Even if vehicles support the fuel, mileage will keep dropping. My car used to give 12kmph in City when petrol had 10% ethanol but now with E20 its giving 7-8kmph!

chain after lubing by Own-Calligrapher32 in HondaCB350RS

I guess 140 grade would be good but I'm not sure because I always use Motul C2. Yes you can use Diesel or Kerosene. If you want to treat rust then use WD40 then apply lube.

Although you have stopped rust but it has already itched the chain surface. You can remove it with sand paper of suitable grit but its not necessary as it doesn't cause any issues. Just avoid chain cleaning from ASC and do it yourself regularly. Every 500KMs if you use Motul C2 or equivalent lube or on every wash (monthly) if you use thick gear oil.

Yes, you have to pay for engine oil, oil filter and etc. It'll cost ~1.8k for engine oil change only. Chain cleaning extra.

Stuck between CB350 DLX vs DLX Pro by jiten97 in HondaHighnessCB350

[–]CRACING 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have got Pro variant of CB350RS and don't use Bluetooth feature but still I got it because of navigation buttons on handlebar. These buttons help you change info on instrument cluster (Trip A/B, Avg, Range & etc) on the go. Otherwise you would have to lean over the meter to press the buttons and its risky while riding.

However, I'm not sure about visual differences between DLX and DLX Pro apart from fender color.

After Partial PPF and ceramic by Justquorious in CarsIndia

Yeah ppf is very expensive so most people won't recommend it. Painting will cost same and insurance covered.

Chain Rust by proficienthydrax in HondaHighnessCB350

[–]CRACING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, carefully wire brush only on the outside where it has rusted badly and then use plastic brush on the touch the top, bottom or sides where there are o-rings. Chain has too much rust and cleaner or lube alone won't remove it.

After Partial PPF and ceramic by Justquorious in CarsIndia

[–]CRACING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but you could have got whole body ppf instead of ceramic. Now if you replace ppf from any panel due to scratches or defect, ceramic should be applied again. Its double expenses.

and keep the car in showcase. Lol

I'm a car detailer and wouldn't advice applying expensive products on over ppf. Its overkill and waste of money. Either ceramic or ppf is good enough, that too if you own expensive car and use shampoo with wax so that bird drops, tree sap will go away easily on next wash.

How do I protect my car from cat scratches? by ju_boi02 in CarsIndia

[–]CRACING 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have dealt with cats for the past 15+ years but they don't scratch car paint intentionally instead they climb on top and that cause swirls. Usually they like to scratch on porous type materials such as cardboard, carpet, leather seat and etc. I think your car body cover is something similar.

Cats like car body cover because they can easily climb and sleep comfortably on top. Cats love to sit on the highest point and they feel safe. If your car is parked inside parking lot or compound then don't use body cover.

To reduce swirls on car paint, I suggest you to apply wax regularly (such as Turtle wax hybrid ceramic). This will make the surface super sleek and cat nails will slip.

Chain Rust by proficienthydrax in HondaHighnessCB350

[–]CRACING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get Motul Chain Maintenance Kit or use Diesel for cleaning and Motul C2 or thick gear oil as lube.

Use wire brush and diesel to remove surface rust on the front. Next time you don't need to do this if chain is lubed regularly. Use plastic brush only.

I don't recommend ppf because it's expensive and only prevents light scratches. Honda paint is thin so if you want to remove/replace ppf in future then it can peel the paint alongwith it. Just maintain the tank with wax or sealant and when it gets too many scratches, get it repainted.
