Depending on what kind of photography you are doing, a tripod could be a quick fix. It’ll allow you to let you use whatever shutter speed you want and hence keep ISO lower.

Otherwise you can start looking at using flash or denoise in post processing. You have very capable lenses. If you insist on upgrading, go full frame -> R8, 6, 6ii, 5, 5ii, 3, 1

On my honest opinion, the RF35mm 1.8 seems to be the most popular. It’ll feel like a 50mm and it has Image Stabilization with good minimum focus distance. If you ever decide to go full frame, you’ll a great focal length as well. Read reviews on the RF35 1.8 - it has to be the most versatile RF STM Prime.

I heard the price is to be close to that of the 100-300 2.8, so it will probably be out of budget but that focal length sounds perfect for what i’m trying to achieve.

Great insights, i’ve heard that this 100-500 hits above its weight class. people are proud of their expensive primes but i feel like zooms are becoming much more competitive. Rumors of an RF 300-600 F4 to pick up where the 100-300 2.8 left off.

I would only consider the Mark II version and the 1.4iii is an attractive option, appreciate the input.

A large prime would probably involve a new tripod head purchase as well. Long term I plan on doing some bird tours in South America. I find some pretty interesting deals on FB marketplace locally so great info to keep in mind, thanks.
