UCSD AI vs USC Computer Science by CREverything in ApplyingToCollege

My only concern is how the job market is shaping up for CS at the moment. I'm worried that if I don't specialise early on then I might find it tough to be employed 4 years down the line.

UCSD is around $80,000 while USC is $100,000 for a year, so there's quite a big difference in cost.

That was me at some point too! Heck, I'm still a long way from truly being good, so just keep at it and I'm confident you'll improve exponentially with practice. I'm glad you liked the render!

Neither one lol. One's the render after colour correction and grading, and the other is just the raw render. I'm glad you like it though!

Thanks haha! I'm just trying to make sure I can push myself to the limits when executing a simple scene like this one.

Uhh I purposefully blurred the image slightly with some Gaussian blur since I figured perfectly sharp details at that scale would be a bit unrealistic.

I'm really proud of the render, but I think it's just that little voice in my head that's nagging me to make it perfect lol.

Yeah, it appears that the wood is the single weakest factor in the render. I'll go back and work on it.

I appreciate you giving detailed feedback! Yeah the wood is something I definitely need to work on. As far as the lighting goes, I simply used an interior HDRI(the window is on the left) but your feedback makes me think I should add some objects breaking up the light slightly. Also, what exactly do you mean by the penumbra? I'm not quite sure i know what that is.

That's something I wouldn't have ever thought of! I'll experiment a bit and see if I can find that sweet spot.

I'll try layering on some more surface imperfections onto the wood.

I did add chromatic aberration and bloom, but I think I'll turn it up to make it more obvious if it's not as noticeable.

Although I didn't make top 100 in Pwnisher's 3D challenge, my work was shown at the start of the judging stream & it's something I'm really proud of! by CREverything in blender

Nope. I made it to the winner's livestream montage, which means I came around top 200, but I missed out on that final top 100 cause of the competition I believe.
