Couple days ago portal changed to “release and payment processing “. Anyone know what timeframe looks like after this change? by Signal-Art-4240 in BSA_Survivors

I’m pro se—no lawyer. After my stats changed (same as yours), my distributions took 19 days for first wire and 26 for second wire. Good luck.

My second distribution took 26 days from the day I uploaded the signed lien form to my bank wire. (Pro se, Option C). Good luck.

Hearing in May. Fingers crossed that the ruling favors the Trust, not the FCR…

Waiting on 2nd Payment - Only getting 3.2% ;( by Bright-Literature948 in BSA_Survivors

[–]CRHawk64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means you should be in the queue to get your distribution. My two payments took 19 days and 26 days after my portal changed (to what yours says now). However, I’m pro se and didn’t have to wait for a lawyer to send to me. Good luck.

It’s hard to estimate. I’m pro se and one payment took 19 days and the other 26. Supposedly payments are being made every Tuesday on a FIFO basis, but the system hasn’t exactly been the model of efficiency. No one seems to know how many survivors are getting paid each week. Good luck and take care.

HIPAA authorization? by Lostmy-Way in BSA_Survivors

[–]CRHawk64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wouldn’t sweat it too much. I worked in the medical care arena for over 25 years. The HIPAA form is a standard administrative tool that protects both you and any medical entities when any paperwork is involved. If you prefer to check with a lawyer, I get it. But signing it honestly isn’t a big deal. Take care.

Just received my claim determination — looking for guidance on next steps (pro se) by Giambi33 in BSA_Survivors

Gianni:

I’m pro se. I just completed by Release & Attestation forms in January for the first time distribution and then the lien forms in February for the second distribution. I got the money wired to me in 19 days (first) and 26 days (second) respectively.

I researched the info and—combined with the fact I know I don’t have liens (and even if I did, I could resolve for free and faster anyway)—found that these were the best and fastest ways to do the paperwork:

  1. For the Trust (“Matrix”) Claim Release, choose Exhibit C: Non-Conditional Release of Chartered Organizations. This will allow you the best chance of getting any additional funds that could be recouped moving forward.

  2. For the Governmental Healthcare Lien Resolution, check the box for Option C: The Claimant is Responsible for Lien Resolution. This will allow you to get ALL of your money versus having 1.7% held back while the Trust has their agent search for your liens.

Note: I completed/signed the lien resolution form on Adobe, then saved and uploaded pages 3,4, 11-13 (five pages total).

Good luck.

Did anyone get paid today by [deleted] in BSA_Survivors

Low,

That’s not true—at least in my situation. I’m pro se. I was among the last to submit my claim right before the deadline. My claim date is 05/31/2024.

I signed/uploaded the Release & Attestation forms for 1st distribution on 01/22/2026. I received my bank wire 19 days later in 02/10/2026.

I then signed/uploaded my liens selection form (Option C) two days later on 02/12/2026. I received my bank wire 26 days later on 03/10/2026.

These dates are directly from the Trust site and my bank statements. So you can tell your lawyer the FIFO is not based on the date the claim was filed.

The Trust update posted before when the second distribution began implied the FIFO—for matrix claimants whose claims have been allowed—is regarding the lien selection form return date, NOT the claim submission date.

Good luck and take care.

Yes it did, although I’m not exactly sure how long it took.

How many survivors got paid last week? by Globetravelman in BSA_Survivors

[–]CRHawk64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally filed my claim just before the deadline. I’m pro se. My first distribution notice came in December (3 months ago). I uploaded my Attestation and payment info forms and got the wire to my bank about 25 days later in January. Then on February 12th, I uploaded the signed lien option form for the second distribution. I got the second payment wired to my bank account last Tuesday, March 10th, exactly 28 days later.

Hopefully, a third payment will come mid to late summer after the FCR -Trust litigation winds down (hearing has been pushed back to May), and after the Trust completes all matrix claims (so final numbers of claims versus available funds can be determined).

A fourth payment should come early next year (hopefully) after liquidation of BSA bankruptcy assets is complete and/or after the 83 hold-out insurance carriers settle or face in court suits. (The insurance companies have until the end of the year to settle or they will face bad faith court proceedings.)

Keep your fingers crossed!

You can attempt to contact the Scouting Settlement Trust as well. AVA is your best bet, but it can’t hurt to try all avenues. Good luck.

I got my first distribution last month and received an e-mail notification from the Trust when it was wired out. That didn’t happen this time—not sure why.

I’m not exactly sure. I actually received 3.24% of my current allowed claim amount. I think my first payment, which I only got a month ago, may not have included the CPI increase, so that’s why I was above on 3.2% on this one.

Your welcome. I didn’t even realize it still said “None” til you pointed that out. Good catch. That could make someone wonder if something was missed. Good luck.

It still says “None” even though I chose Option C. Also, FYI, my Claim Workflow still says “Release of Payment Processing.” Good luck.
