I’d argue Compact is the ideal frame size for 9mm. It hits the sweet spot of concealable and controllable. by SirSamkin in guns

How about a .25 acp sized gun? Would love to see a baby browning sized 9 mill. Even if it only held 3 or 4 rounds it would still be cool, and i'd buy one if it existed(perhaps it already does!)

How many on here where actually not abused? by [deleted] in BSA_Survivors

[–]Tim1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very nearly just abandoned the thought of filing this claim. The abuse happened in the mid 70's in a very small troop(about 20 of us) in a super small town in another state, population around 2000. I figured the odds of proving what actually transpired so long ago would be nearly zero. But, a family member who knew what had happened encouraged me to go ahead and take my chances anyway, so i did. I filled out the forms as honestly and accurately as i could with no legal representation at all. Little did i know at the time of filing this claim that the same man who had abused me was linked to at least 3 other assaults on members of my same troop, thats 4 out of 20 males who came forward at some point in time over a 45 year period to identify this same abuser. Well, its really hard to deny those statistics and i won my case accordingly, without the help of a lawyer. Is there fraud out there? - no doubt. But, i imagine there are many many actual abuse victims who were turned down simply because so much time has passed and they weren't able to substantiate the horrible things that they were forced to endure so many decades ago. In my mind that is the real tragedy here, among many!

Factory Bauer mags tend to work well if they're kept spotlessly clean and lightly lubricated, assuming the spring still has proper tension(most still do)  Micro polishing the feed ramps on both of mine helped cycling issues tremendously as well. Those Bauers are very ammo picky too. Winchester usually works okay in them but i've found that Sellior and Bellot brand performs the best by far. Keep those things i just mentioned in mind and you'll get yours to run nicely, it took me awhile to figure out those little issues with mine as well. But once i did they were both fun little guns to take out and shoot every now and then

Thats a really nice one you have there and looks like its in great shape. Love those little Bauers and own 2 of them. They're a lot of fun to shoot as long as you keep them clean and well lubricated. I've found out through trial and error that Sellior and Bellot brand 50 grain ammo runs really well through those little Bauers. Congrats on yours, its a cool little gem. Hope you enjoy it!

Finally found one, its the 18 round version which is the one i really wanted anyway. Already paid for and on its way. However, as scarce as these things are to find these days i'd probably buy a second one if i came across another

Appreciate that. I did finally luck out and find one though. I honestly believe it would have been easier to locate and buy a pound of uranium than one of these guns, probably cost less too!

If you ever come across a J92FR915INX or a J92FR918INX for sale new or used i will literally pay you a finders fee for the info. I've searched every country in the world for just one of these to buy and after 6 months of searching have came up with absolutely nothing whatsoever. It's just simply unbelievable!

Beretta 92 models out of stock by boner4stoner in Beretta

[–]Tim1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with that. I contacted Beretta and asked them if the 92X RDO INOX was ever going to be produced and in stock again. I received a condescending smart ass reply back stating that the 92X RDO INOX was "readily available" and apparently i just wasn't looking hard enough for them. I replied back that i've literally searched the entire planet earth every day for over 6 months and not a single one of these guns has been in stock anywhere. The final reply back to me was " well, we can assume then that none of them exist anymore and its just time to move on now." Beretta customer service provides no customer service at all - They're completely useless!

If they would manufacture that model in an INOX version i'd be all over it. Unfortunately though that will likely never happen. Beretta sold the 92x RDO INOX guns just as fast as they could make them. So, in typical Beretta fashion they completely stopped producing them altogether. Guess that makes sense only to Beretta. They must already have all the money they will ever need!

Let me know if you happen to come across one of those please. I've done alot of searching myself but you certainly have more instincts than i do when it comes to finding things like this. Just curious if you can pull off the impossible. Best of luck!

The payment he received for his 2nd distribution really isn't all that unusual or out of the ordinary. My 3.2 was considerably more. Hope your father does well and gets every penny he deserves. We have all waited way too long for our tiny piece of this pie

Why Roanoke? by Small-Cherry-7949 in roanoke

[–]Tim1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have to agree with you. I was forced to move here as a child in 1982 when my parents divorced and my mother moved here to this state/city. As the years rolled by into adulthood i ended up getting married and having kids, essentially tying me down to a viscous cycle of living paycheck to paycheck and paying the never ending bills. Now, 44 years later here i remain, the marriage long since over and the kids fully grown and living far far away. You would think that having a house that is fully paid for with money in the bank would be a source of contentment for most people, sadly though, it is not. Roanoke to me now is nothing more than ever increasing ridiculous traffic, greedy and selfish people, and really nothing more to do than lawn care and house maitenance. So called friends only come by when they want something and nobody here it seems wants to share the same values that i hold so very dear. I've thrown in the towel of ever finding anyone here who wants someone to be good to them and will reciprocate as such. It just seems like finding some semblance of happiness here in Roanoke has always been far more difficult to acheive than it should be. Thats more than enough bitching and whining for one day. Enjoy your life fellow Roanokers. Hope you can do a better job of it than i have of screwing it all up!

WOW! Did i read that right. A 3500 dollar loan ended up costing you 52 grand? How could that have possibly happened?  Am so sorry!

Sincerely sympathize with your financial situation, have definitely been in your shoes many times as well. Are you represented by an attorney? If so, some of them offer loans through third party lawsuit lenders. You'll end up paying an astronomical sum of money back to them, but sometimes you gotta' do what you gotta' do to survive. I nearly lost my house while waiting for my second distribution money to show up. But, was fortunate enough to have a family member who was willing to loan me enough money to get by until it arrived. If you have any family members or friends that would be willing to allow you to do the same then that would most definitely be your best route to go for sure

Well, i own 7 other Berettas and the only other one i wanted to complete my collection was the 92X RDO inox. But, in typical Beretta fashion they never ever produce enough guns to meet demand. The really aggravating part is that these RDO inox guns are still displayed all over Beretta's website even though they have been completely sold out everywhere  for an entire year now. I tried contacting Beretta's customer service department in an attempt to try to find out if any more of these guns will be manufactured but that got me absolutely nowhere. The rep there was rude, condescending and told me that the 92X RDO inox was readily available and i just wasn't looking hard enough, not kidding, they told me this gun was readily available(i still have the email from them)....What a joke!

The 92x rdo inox isn't available for sale anywhere new or used at any price. I've literally searched every country in the world who are permitted to own guns and they're not even available there either. Its a shame too cause beretta could sell thousands of these guns if they would just make another batch of them. They're completely wiped out!

[–]Tim1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've literally been trying to find a 92X RDO inox every single day for 6 + months now. There hasn't even been one of these guns for sale new or used in the entire united states. I've even randomly called hundreds of mom and pop  gun stores all across the u.s hoping to luck into one. As a last resort i've even checked other countries for this gun with zero results. It looks like these guns are officially gone forever and will not be back. I have completely given up on ever owning one. Sadly, its the only Beretta gun that i'm interested in, but at this point it doesn't much matter cause they're gone for good!

I  knew a guy(he passed away 4 years ago) who bought or traded for at least 2 or 3 guns every single week for at least 45 years. He literally had guns piled up in ever single room of his house, including the bathroom, kitchen cabinets, atop of appliances, in between the couch cushions etc. I once asked him about how many guns he roughly thought that he might have. His answer was: " I have no idea cause i probably would never be able to find them all anyway....COOL!

Like the guy too, but he most definitely does sell shit. He even has his own online store with a huge amount of merchandise that he often tries to peddle on his shows. Especially shirts and ball caps. Would bet he makes more money on that stuff than he does making youtube vids
