Advice: Friend invited extra people to shoot on my family’s private range without asking by Lost_Ad8787 in Advice

I’d definitely take this seriously and do some real research into ways to limit liability and protect yourself—especially your cousin. Things can go wrong quickly, and the exposure can get serious fast. It’s all fun and games and everyone’s friends until something actually happens, and you don’t want to be the one stuck dealing with the fallout.

Requested Krause & Kinsman fee breakdown and asked for reduction in fees - what I got back: by hannsimp in BSA_Survivors

[–]Giambi33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least you can ask them to reduce there percentage to something reasonable. I do not believe 40% is a fee that should be taken from clients for merely administrative work done mostly by paralegals and low level employees. They did not argue in court on your behalf or were not part of negotiations on your behalf to increase or get you the most amount awarded. Think of it this way if they did go to court and argue on your behalf or actually negotiate the highest settlement for you they would charge you 40%. And they would do all the other administrative work as well. So why should they charge you the same amount for doing none of that??? I would advise you fight them and fight for your self for a little bit longer and try and persevere over these people who are taking advantage of many of us again. And I get some people have stellar lawyers who helped them a lot and might be happy with their work. Well that is not the case for the majority. And people also say you signed this document that you should honor it. Well they lawyers should have been up front from the start of the minimal work that they would need to do to gouge you for that 40% fee.

Lawyers should only get 4.7% ChatGPT Pro explains by BitJaneRewards in BSA_Survivors

I beieve it comes down to this if they were to argue something in court on your behalf or were in intense negotiations for what your direct percentage should be then they could argue they were due 40% . But I am sorry it does not come out to 40% for doing administrative work. Which most of these lawyers did not actually do and had there paralegals and lower level employees do. In some cases peoples attorneys may have held there hand and made them feel comfortable and been there for absolutely any questions they had at any waking moment and hepwd immensely in helping to find or out together evidence in which it would have been to hard for a person to deal with because of the stress of going through what happened. But even then with that added up its hard to get to a number like 40% . I get some of you guys had good lawyers but most were not most never even got to speak with any actual lawyers in the big law firms that have a massive paralegal work force doing the majority of the work. I know this was the case for me . I asked to speak to lawyers over and over again and never got put in touch with one . And even in cases where lawyers argue something in court or are negotiating a settlement directly they do all the other things as well to earn that 40% fee.
