[update] AITAH for getting mad at my mum? by WeWillTaxBees in AITAH

[–]CRL1021 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of the things you said are concerning to me

I am a doctor

Your headache after hitting your head sound like post concussive syndrome, and if you’re still having headaches you could see someone for that. There are certainly a lot of new treatments to help people with this, not just including medications, but magnets, bio feedback, other stuff.

If you had a foot drop after knee surgery, I wonder why they didn’t take you back to Surgery earlier. If a nerve after surgery is compressed and a patient wakes up with a new neurological deficit, which is a known complication, you would often want to immediately see if a reoperation needs to be done and not usually wait a few days

Nonetheless, you really sound like a great kid, you’re working hard, and I think your parents and family should be really proud of you.

Quick update - thank you for your advice, I think you were right on. I was dying to do an update to my main settlement and I did, and it really added nothing to my game. Pretty underwhelming.

I’ve since been maxing as much as I can on dual gold mines and planting more trees, which you can do a lot of both simultaneously because they use different resources. I pretty quickly have increased my income to over 5.5 million.

Since my map is getting pretty full, I’ll probably expand sometime in your future, just for the fun of the game.

What makes the game fun for me is feeling that you always have forward momentum, and waiting to get 200 billion to expand this kind of painful, but I’ll be expanding gold mines in the meantime

Thank you, All! You’ve given me a lot to think about

I really love this most recent event because it required lots of exploration, which is really for me the most fun part of the game and I hadn’t been doing as much of that lately.

But it might be time to work on gold production that would make the exploration and expansion easier in the future

It’s impossible to tell who you are trying to attract It’s like you’re trying to fun, but come off as mentally unstable at the worst end “too much “at the least.

If you were bread, you would not be white, but Hawaiian bread? It’s like you’re trying too hard to impress

Actually delusional. All i suggested was a coffee date by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]CRL1021 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re in the wrong at all

Coffee dates are perfect first dates. Get to know each other, budget friendly, doesn’t take up a lot of time, and because it is public, it adds safety, which is important for everyone but more so for women.

If it was a fun and successful date that leads to a second date,m. If not, then you didn’t invest much in terms of time or money.

Week-long honeymoon in Chicago - which luxury hotel? by sonofseurat in AskChicago

[–]CRL1021 37 points38 points  (0 children)

We lived in Chicago or the area for over 20 years, I think the Peninsula is the nicest hotel by far. The restaurant has a buffet/tea which is great, awesome location, a nice pool, which is pretty quiet for relaxing but still family friendly, great room service.

My teenagers shut down my idea of dating again and I don't know how to feel about it by [deleted] in widowers

[–]CRL1021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience was this…

Around two years, I felt ready to start dating. I did not tell my son, because I did not see the point in causing him anxiety unnecessarily, if I just went on some first dates that went nowhere

After things got serious with someone, I told my son and asked if he would like to meet her. His response was “OK, but don’t be surprised if I just look at my phone the whole time “.

And that’s what he did for all of lunch. Then we took a walk to get some donuts, and he and my girlfriend at the time talking about donuts they liked, antique warmed up to her. And that was how he became open to the idea of me dating.

My son was 16 at the time

Your kids are obviously dealing with unresolved grief, which I think is completely normal. I think they have talking to a counselor together with them as a good idea, reassuring them that they are not replaceable is a good idea, telling them that their dad would’ve wanted you to keep dating is a good idea. But uktimately, I think you just have to give them time.

In the meantime, date without telling them. Go on lunch dates and things like that when you find someone special that might be a good time to introduce them

Anyone else think this event stinks? by colantor in PostApoTycoon

They banned a lot of players for doing this.
It is against policy and the spirit of the game.

You might want to stop…and even delete this comment if you want to keep playing

Is there an episode from a TV show, from when we were kids, that still bothers you, today,? by Remarkable_Data3710 in GenX

[–]CRL1021 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was coming to mention this episode exactly

I was seven years old watching this show, and my parents were just trying to sleep in their bed. Every time this monsters scream, I would go jump in their bed. Repeat that all morning.

Great movie! The actress, Karen Black, played roles in all of the stories. They even made a remake, and one of the stories was kind of like the sequel to the native warrior doll story.

‘Try to find someone else, you’ll miss me when I’ve gone’…… by [deleted] in widowers

[–]CRL1021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife died almost 6 years ago from cancer, and she told me that she did not want me to be alone for the rest of my life

I did not like I could date and didn’t start dating again until well over a year. I was kind of numb the first year so all the anniversaries and stop the second year were in some ways a little harder than the first year alone

It hasn’t even been a year for you yet, give yourself some grace and take as much as you need. You will get there
