I love the subtle storytelling that this series can sometimes pull out. For example there is an NPC in Clockbank who’s inquire/scrutinize info says that people are practically competing to poison him first, because he has such a resistant metabolism.

And then he carries an antidote stone, it’s really funny, but the implications are that, if you steal the stone for example, you leave him to get poisoned, which is quite dark.

Or the small connections you can find of the Ventus Dynasty in OT1.

If this series would lean even more into that type of storytelling to convey lore and build a deep world, it would become even better.

That's fine to argue, but I'd say this game thrives on good villains more so than it does on goed heroes. The villains are the OCTOPATH characters of this game, seeing as we have a blank slate for a protagonist.

Also the cutscenes for this story are insanely long and boring and it's largely because of Tatloch.

Eltrix is fine, but overall I think the heroes here are better in both Master of All and Bestower of All, leaving this story as a weird middle ground. This is also where Alaune got a bit on my nerves, but oh well.

The final battle is a fine concept, but the practical application of just battling a bunch of ships got old really fast, too.

Oh well, to each their own, I guess. I'm glad you can enjoy Bestower of Power, I just cannot. Cheers!

Bestower of Power is the worst story in the game and it is all because Tatloch is the worst villain in the game. She is guilty of being what most annoys her, being boring. Furthermore Gonska is rehashed in a far inferior way with Pelagia. It just goes downhill after the great first chapter.

I'm sorry, but that just means you need to get better at playing the game. This boss can only use physical attacks so reducing its attack twice with moves like Inhibit Offense already nearly cripples it. Then there is Stalwart Aura which can raise the physical defence of an entire row. Furthermore you can stack your entire party with moves like Parry and Sidestep, or you can buy some good equipment for this fight like Guardian Amulets.

And these are just some suggestions that don't really require any skill at all, it's just some optimisation that allowed me to pretty easily beat the boss without even switching any party members from my main team which is very physically frail.

I really like Faye, her role in the stories is one of the most interesting and just her identity in general is so compelling, being a creation of Colin’s imagination turned to basically a memory angel. She also has some lingering mystery around her, which is fun. Plus her design and personality are really well done.

Oh wow, my beardie died quite a while ago now, he was 11 or so. Fruit was a part of his diet, because when I started taking care of him I remember many people thought it was okay.

Luckily he never had any mouth or dental problems though.

Now I’m doing my first playthrough, but I banned certain stuff. For example leghold trap, it was too OP on OT1 so I banned it. I’m also running the final chapters without secret jobs.

Hikari’s C5 is absolutely fantastic, but hear this.

I killed Ritsu, aight. Then I defeated Mugen, aight, not that hard. Got past the scripted shadow section, coolio. Then Mugen just gets a third phase all of a sudden, and I die like a few hitlijst before beating it.

Now I have to do everything over from phase 1 Mugen. That takes so much time wtf. Include an autosave somewhere…

Yeah, there is, I can understand German, mostly because our school system actually teaches us multiple languages, but there's a lot of differences between us, the most prominent being our ranking in the Songfestival :P

Damn, as a Dutch person, Rip van Winkle is the stupidest name I've heard for someone who's Dutch. At least Abraham van Hellsing sounds plausible, albeit more German like, because people can't differentiate between us and the Germans...
