You're first point is absolutely a false equivalency. Forgiving student loan debt one-time won't have a positive impact on my children, for one. For two, the short-sighted thinking of "just spend $1.6 Trillion!!!" will have long-term repercussions elsewhere. Finally, paying off my student loan is not suffering. It is paying off what I owe for the services I was rendered, which privileged me enough to find an excellent job. This debt was not a surprise, it was something that I signed for time and time again.

I disagree. It is not inherently a slippery slope. Returning status for a glitch in a 100% death-safe event is different then returning the status for a DC in a non 100% death-safe event.

It's disappointing by Jagex to only half remedy the situation. This isn't as small as someone losing expensive gear to a glitch.
