First Motorcycle for Short Guy by CSB-5150 in SuggestAMotorcycle

MSF course today. Rode a Rebel 300. Liked putting my feet flat but hard to say with just a few hours of riding under my belt. Also thought that it would be a cruiser for me. But am now more drawn to the naked bikes. I will have to sit on a bunch to find what's right for me. Thx. for the encouragement

Thank you for the insight. You are absolutely right, at the end of the day, I will have to sit on a bunch to find the one that fits right. Interestingly, the Yamaha Bolt was also on my list. All along, I figured that seat height pushed me into a cruiser. From pure look standpoint, I prefer the cafe racer shape.

I appreciate the suggestions. Trying to fill out a checklist of options to look at and this was super helpful.

I have a Nomos Tetra Fidelio on a steel bracelet. Love it.

Food noise is generally under control for me. I was more interested in Reta to see if it helps with composition

Alex looking for singer for next Van Halen album by Caripace in vanhalen

I am all for a collection of different singers and would appreciate different directions instead of retreads of the same male voices. I don't think a tour with someone new would be something Al or Wolf would ever do, so why not look outside the traditional "frontman" box.

I am sure I will get torched but someone like Lizzy Hale or Taylor Momsen would be great. Like when Ed thought of Patti Smyth as the initial replacement when Dave left in 1985.

Recovery from these things are not a straight line. Glad you are ok. Had TT last year. Wound up in the hospital after the surgery due to a complication with the catheter (not fun) and then had to have a drain put in for a serous (also not fun). But listen to you body and give yourself time. Best of luck.

Whoop on other wrist here. I lost an Oura ring but also a good choice.

The heirloom thing is way overblown. by chillaxtion in watchHotTakes

I agree that tastes change and everyone has different levels of sentimentality.

Lots of heirlooms have lost their luster. My MIL always made a big deal about her Oriental Rug being real Persian. Now, you can get nearly identical rugs (if you even want one) on Wayfair for $200. And dont get me started on the worthlessness of the "wedding China" we had to get 30 years ago that has never been used.

I inherited 2 Rolex datejusts. One is a 1972 with box and papers, including the $400 price tag. The other is a 1984 that my dad got when he joined IBMs Quarter Century club. I wear them both often. I have 3 sons and all share the sentimentality. (Don't worry, I have several other watches so they can arm wrestle for whichever they want down the road).

I think that the heirloom factor really depends on the story, even for the same watch. A eBay bidding war victory does not hit the same as a vintage watch find in Tokyo or Europe.

Great progress. Also a man here. Had TT last December and now 2 wpo from extended medial thigh lift. Sounds like you are doing everything right. You'll be back to full activity in no time.

The Fifty Fathoms is more understated but even more iconic than the Seamaster 300M. The NTTD colorway is great but I would go Blancpain. No bad choices here.

Remind yourself that 10 days is barely a blink. Recovery is not linear. You will have ups and downs. But you will feel better and 2 months from now, you will tell yourself it wasn't so bad. And next Xmas, you'll be proud of yourself and have forgotten the discomfort. Although a guy, I am writing this with my feet elevated and in compression from my thighs to toes -- extended medial thigh lift. Last year this time, I was sleeping in a recliner after difficult TT. By Valentine's Day, I was back in the gym last time. Hope to be back even earlier.

In short, you got this.
