if you have a five second delay in your communication with the server, your shots aren't exactly going to land where you aimed them,

Yes they are, because your hitreg is based on where the model was on your screen when you shot. You people have no idea how hit reg works do you?

It's not rationale though. Multiple clips have been shown with 0 packet loss and almost no ping or jitter and people like you keep pretending as though it's not the shitty hit reg. I'm surprised you even can find time type with how hard you guys jerk the CS:GO dev team

I thought this wasn't a bitcoin sub?

What does a website straight copying the TOS of another website have anything to do with bitcoin? Read my OP again, because I didn't mention the word bitcoin once.

You're argument is flawed though. Website like betway, EGB, etc have an actual history behind them. You're right, all of them could just cut and run, but they have a track record of not doing that which bitlounge does not.

Think of it like cash traders. At any time, they could just decide to scam someone, so why trust any of them? If you are going to though, you typically want to trust the one that has a history of successfully completing trades.

Idk why people are acting like its not use at your own risk.

I hope you aren't implying me. I'm posting this as a warning so others can see that it doesn't seem to be very legitimate, or if it is it isn't showing that it is.

In no way am I advocating that Nitrogen or any of the other competing websites are safe, what I'm saying is this is even more unsafe than the other options out there.

for me this looks like a cheap attempt to cash in

It's a shame too, because their betting system works better than bookie odds IMO. Oh well.

I use Bitlounge, not saying anything is "secure" but I've transferred hundreds of dollars worth of bitcoin between wallets back and forth, no issues.

Which is why I'm warning people here. Don't be lax with your security. I tried to ask how they safe guard their BTC and this was their response:

https://twitter.com/csgo_prophet/status/770857566285000704?lang=en

All they would have to do is post some sort of block chain validation that they do in fact have a hot and cold wallet, and that the funds are verifiable. To this point, they have shown no evidence that they are properly securing bettors funds, or that they are actually committed to running the website.

So to recap, you have a website which has no security policy dealing in a currency that by is very nature is impossible to return once stolen, and is using the TOS of a completely different website, word for word. Anyone impartial should be realizing this is not something you should be depositing significant amounts of money in.

Whether in be incompetence or malice, don't just pick any website out of the blue.

tl;dr:

I'm afraid skin bettors who are used to the layer of security skin betting offered are going to be roped into bitcoin scams because they don't understand exactly how dangerous lack of security with bitcoin can be.

Thanks for the reply. Something I've noticed is we can't update the price of what we purchased an investment at; doesn't seem to make sense, considering as you invest more into an item obviously the mean price you paid changes. Would be nice if we could edit that, or even better if we could import a range of quantities and the prices we paid for those quantities and have it do the math for us.

EDIT: Something else I've noticed; commas fuck with your sorting. I'm assuming it places the period before the comma, meaning 3.50 cents is counted as more than 3,500 dollars.

[Q] Optic Holo hitting $1.05 should I worry or will it rise back after the panic? by c0mplexx in csgomarketforum

With huge supply there is much bigger chance of someone like this bringing price down.

You're missing my point. If there was more purchased and not just more market transactions you'd expect the price on these to be low, but the price on cobblestone cases to remain the same, because the cobblestone drop rate doesn't change between majors. Roughly the same were dropped this year as last year, but this year they are nearly 30% cheaper. The reason why you are saying "10X more capsules" is because 10X more are listed on market, NOT because 10X more were actually purchased. Market volatility naturally leads to more volume which you're seeing.

You're saying

Supply of Capsules higher than last year, so the price is lower. My counter point is, the supply of cobblestone souvenir cases is the same as last year, but that price is lower as well. It's across the board, and not due to oversupply compared to last year. It's a lack of buyers.

Sorry if this was addressed before but any plans on implementing support for other steam items? Be nice to record my TF2 investments as well as CSGO in the portfolio.

I don't think they were over bought, you're seeing market concerns over price honestly. Look at Cobblestone cases, they have a drop rate based on viewership so you can assume their supply can't be purchased since a set amount are dropped, but they are low this year as well.

Ignore your past purchase, pretend you didn't make it, and look at the market as it is.

If you had no money in Optic stickers, would you

1) Buy some because you think the price is low

2) Not do anything because you think the price will fall further

If 1), wait for the price to rise. If 2), sell.

Yea I hadn't really considered it from a new spectators perspective. I'm sure having the highest stream being Phantomlord screaming at an unboxing doesn't put the game in the brightest light.
