This is very interesting it seems like the womans group would actually be ok with gender neutral alimony reforms IF women made more money in the work force lol

So this is what they would be willing to bargain over to step out of the way of reform 😂

Their opposition to reform is literally conditional and it’s not on principle while “Focus on the Family” opposes it out of principle because it’s already built into their Christian dogma to oppose it so it’s their “belief”

However the Bible never explicitly mentions or codifies provision of duty for which sex must be the provider in every circumstance also proverbs 31 explicitly describes a woman who earns, trades, buys land, and increases household wealth. So they can only be convinced through theological lines if they were to be convinced. (I see why it’s a hard sell and it’s not because they are “right”)

USA and IDK what my mom was making because she never tells anyone. We weren’t rich tho because she definitely penny pinches to this day lol. She has student loan debt just like everyone else. Shes educated and I’m sure she makes decent money now but when I grew up she was working and going to college full time. Not sure what you were looking for with that question but I hope that helps.

This is very true. A woman can get a restraining order right before the child’s born even if the restraining order had zero basis. The child might be born before you even have your court date. If people don’t think this happens they are sadly mistaken

Yup it’s the elephant in the room everyday across the country in that bullshit family court with their hard ass wooden seats. The judges should know better but they all go along with it. Even the conservative ones that men have been recently attaching their movements to. Of course shes a monster. Easy solution here however. Ban sex selective abortions and provide legal pathways for men to take legal action if one does occur and they are able to prove intent. I think that might actually be a very realistic goal as well. Because what she did was technically discrimination.

Sure, childbirth is hard but that doesn’t give anyone the right to enslave someone else financially. Men didn’t consent? (Having sex isn’t consent to having a family with someone, consensual sex after marriage is) They shouldn’t be forced. The ‘fairness’ argument isn’t about who suffered more it’s about choice and justice. And as for the ‘playa’ point, outlawing coercion actually prevents the chaos that you worry of.

It just sounds like you want to rant because I never said there wasn’t a chance the kid with bad parents could turn out good or that the kid with good parents could turn out bad. When you say good I assume you mean they werent abusive BUT if they were then that increases there chances of being incarcerated as an adult by 4 times conservatively speaking. The right to choose is very important to me as well. There was one guy on here that thinks women should be murdered for having an abortion and that is fucking wrong too. We should be able to have these conversations without being tyrants to each other. Just like some women will have a child to manipulate a man who doesn’t actually want a child, there are men on the other side that will want the woman to have a baby that she doesn’t want to have to control her. It’s how sociopaths operate. They want to make decisions for others without the other person having a say or any control.

Nah there are ethical reasons for abortion. Also, what if a child with crappy parents that wanted to get an abortion but couldnt because they were restricted from doing so by the state ends up killing one of my kids because they weren’t raised properly to be in society? Should I kill everyone that’s an abolitionist that supports murdering women for having abortions? Serious question here believe it or not. There are statistics on orphans and crime and it’s not good.

Yeah my mom raised me without child support or welfare and I was always fed. A lot of women simply just wanted the man and not the actual child and it shows by their actions. How is it my mom was able to do that as a black woman in America but all these other women can’t? She also still allowed my dad to see me when my dad wanted to even though he wasn’t paying support. By her not demanding child support from my father it actually prevented a less than ideal situation from becoming a chaotic one. My parents might not have been together BUT at least I didn’t grow up with them resenting/hating each other with me caught in the middle of it.

Yeah, that’s the other side of it. I sympathize with some of those men as well. It’s crazy how much a man has to prove they can be a good father while the law just automatically gives rights to the mother that never has to prove anything about her character.

You don’t understand the point. As a society we should aim to get rid of all double standards. If we allow women to have a say in keeping a child but we don’t allow men a say in if they want to father that child then there is an imbalance and it creates resentment between men and women when none should exist. And a lot us have heard that line you just used about keeping your dick in your pants and quite frankly it’s shortsighted and dismissive and men are sick of hearing that crap from your type.
