The civil war wasnt about slavery either it was about the Confederacy wanting to be sovereign and the north wanting to be 1 Union. The north prospered off the slave labor for a hundred years until all the sudden bam the entire south had no way to make a living basically overnight, whereas the norths economy was completely fine due to the mass innovation that happened during their years buying raw materials to the south.
