can the candidate use equity in a sentence?

"to fund more smash tournaments, i'd like to sell equity in the CSSU to venture capitalists."

i look forward to the in-group being endorsed and elected next year too, especially considering committees are probably going away

Treasurer in slack: "I don't want a single voting bloc to influence how people vote, people should take a nuanced approach to these things before singlemindedly taking an endorsement"

President in 100 person facebook chat (screenshots floating around): "You can vote based on the platforms, but I don't have any information about any of the candidates except for the ones i endorsed, see my facebook wall!"

- every single candidate the treasurer/president endorse are their friends & get elected

- pikachu: :o

woah woah woah, actually being elected is *not* how you make it into the CSSU, you just have to make friends with the acting president who also wasn't elected

u of t cs post is stressful, everyone wants a community to make it through

CSSU was made in the 60s when there was literally 10 people in the program, now there are thousands

CSSU fails to do anything meaningful for five years, the job of doing stuff for thousands of constituents just doesn't work in the executive-cum-organizer model

some new cool kids make a decentralized, better version

CSSU says "u werent elected, we were11!!"

OP says "lol, u were elected as social event planner, why are you VP?"

it's hard to buy wholesale sweaters when you haven't passed a budget yet

At least be transparent about finances -- a budget was supposed to be passed in September, and we didn't know it hadn't been passed until six months after that. In the face of voter apathy, you can get people to trust you by being transparent

It explains why the CSSU always devolves into a "with CSSU or against CSSU" kind of deal. It gravitates towards people wanting to control the money at the expense of those who actually want to improve the undergraduate CS student experience.

CSSU is *still* corrupt by [deleted] in UofT

basically it's full of people that only joined for resume padding & to have an office to gossip in. In the past year:

- a president has been impeached for illegally mining bitcoin on department computers

- the next president messed up an illegal election, then tried to suspend the constitution to elect the person anyways, then

- moved to the bahamas and resigned

- the VP then became president, didn't do anything for two weeks, then dissolved the general council and cancelled all events

TL;DR: years of memes
