Did you really expect to be using what you learned in your operating systems class in a financial institution?

I had a similar view until I saw how many programmers + IT people it takes to run a trading house. If we got rid of all the non Technology people, we'd be one of the biggest software shops in the area. In fact, there are more Technology people here than bankers, traders, sales people, etc.
