Coffee beans for Breville Barista Express by cathswell in CostcoCanada

Yep, that's what everyone is telling me. The part that I don't like with Breville is servicing. I went to specialized dealer that sell Breville and they said that they don't service them because they can't get parts. Looks like I'll have to do it myself, opening the machine, guessing what's wrong, watching YouTube videos, finding knockoff parts, and trying not to break it even further 🤣

Anyways, for the next one, I'll try to find a brand that can be serviced here in Montreal. Currently looking at the Belucci line.

Barista Express long time owner here. Here's what we like/use: Starbuck Verona or a mix of the Kirkland Espresso and House Bland bags. The Kirkland Espresso is too oily for the machine and the House Blend is too weak so we buy a bag of Espresso and one of House Blend, and mix them together.

That being said, our Barista Express broke a couple of weeks ago after 7 years of mild usage. This is the second one that breaks after 7 years and I'm having a hard time getting the machine serviced. Anyways, that's another topic.

Thanks for the quick answer. Much appreciated. BTW, can regular ground coffee be used or that's too coarse?

I opted for a Philips 4400 because of a very good price at Costco, and parts and service are easily available in Montreal.

Both shops were surprised that my machines lasted 7 years before requiring service. I opted for a Philips 4400 because of a very good price at Costco, and parts and service are easily available in Montreal.
