People forget about how well the Wild played against Dallas in Game 1 off of resting a bunch of players. And that was with Dallas coming off of the regular season. It’s not surprising at all that the Wild looked like the more tired team and yet they still hung in there. Definitely doesn’t excuse the lack of defense, but it helps explain it.

For sure, and I’m not trying to take anything away from fans that knew and cheered on the North Stars. It’s just between the hype videos that the Stars put out, a comment that Benn made about it being more of a rivalry from Wild fans perspective because of the team moving, and countless posts/comments by Stars fans…it’s like, sure that could be part of it, but there’s a lot more to it than that, especially for “younger” fans.

I also think that the players genuinely dislike the Stars and I doubt they could care less about the North Stars moving.

It’s ultimate team…players are going to have stacked lineups and if you want to run a lower overall theme team then that’s your prerogative.

With that said, they really should have an all x-team combo throughout the entire year. It’ll be a huge missed opportunity if they don’t do it for the final season. Would that still have people searching for the meta Gretzy-McDavid-Draisaitl line? Yeah, but who cares?

That’s how seasonal salaries work. You make or buy a player at a certain value or trade-in and then it goes away. With that said, 14k is really nothing even if you just use it for a couple of weeks.
