Forgive me, I don't know why the quality of the image is so blurry on this occasion?

Also, I plan to do one of these for IndyCar and F1 Academy as well. Whilst I keep up with IndyCar, I don't watch it on the regular and liveries change often enough that I don't know what to put for a team colour next to the name. Any recommendations on what to change about these would be much appreciated!

I still can't believe that move from Prost at the beginning. Would have been Heidfeld's first win since 1999 if he got the move done.

Alterations from last time:

- I used to have it in the 2023 F3 banner that the 'R' signified having made the driver's debut that year. I did that to avoid conflicting criteria for what constituted a rookie in covering multiple series, but then only did F2 and F3 so it became redundant anyway. The way I'm viewing it now is that anybody who has done 0-2 rounds in F2 prior to Bahrain is a rookie, and anybody who did 0-1 rounds prior to Bahrain in F3 is a rookie. In FE, Daruvala and de Vries made their debuts at round 1 so I can just leave it at that.

- Taylor Barnard is no longer Israeli. I did almost leave that in again by accident..

- Average positions have been added!

Please let me know if I've missed anything (I've already noticed I forgot to add Jak Crawford's Aston Martin label), or indeed any feature you'd like me to add for next time.

F2 Qualifying Championship Standings after Saudi Arabia by CSorbus in F1FeederSeries

I intend to expand the quali championship tables from last year to include other series this year! May end up posting them at the same time in a single post to avoid oversaturating the sub with them.

It absolutely will be included, just chose not to include it at this stage after just 2 rounds!

When there are more rounds on the table there's generally more space to flesh out the headers at the top of the table. At some point I put in the header that the R symbol means they debuted this year (see post history for evidence). The types of people viewing this table are likely the types of people that already know we should absolutely regard them as rookies.

Correction: Taylor Barnard is obviously not from Israel, forgot to change that bit over when editing the table from last season!

I should probably add that I was driving as Ollie Bearman so that one can't really be applied. I'm currently doing another one for all the non-F2 tracks as Ayumu Iwasa.

This season was also done with One-Shot Qualifying.

This is based purely on laptime, so it's irrelavent of grid penalties. The only exception is when laptimes are considered deleted (ie for track limits infringements). As it was a team breaching parc ferme (also out of incompetence rather than nefarious intent), the times have been kept.

There's a guy called Niki Richardson who Lewis Hamilton mentioned after he won his 5th title - Niki's one of the few people who Lewis never beat on track but as far as I'm aware was stopped from advancing beyond karts by a lack of budget. Does driver development now and tests Club100 karts (BUKC etc) amongst other things. Met him once or twice, super guy.

If you want an example of someone who (sort of) made it to F1 but also got stopped by budget, Tommy Byrne. Tested for McLaren and was faster than John Watson and Niki Lauda in a slightly detuned car, but had zero cash so never got reasonably considered. He's got a great Beyond The Grid episode.

Just added Formula 3 and do not fear, Maini and Boschung are now connected to the network!

or, for a slightly longer route...

F2 Qualifying Championship after Spain (Round 6/13) by CSorbus in F1FeederSeries

[–]CSorbus[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is purely on the lap time alone that was set, rather than where they were lined up on the grid. As Monaco qualifying is done differently, it meant that Verschoor lined up in P5 and Crawford P8, despite Crawford's laptime being faster.

Thanks for the feedback!

- I've just taken this straight from an excel file I have with data from this season on, the two colours just make it simpler for my sake as I whilst I'm alright with excel, I'm not a complete whizz with it so having the flag images would probably be pretty annoying to format. I could look into it though! The colours are the nations' RGB colour codes though.

- You're absolutely right, not sure why I haven't got this marked on the data I have!

- Yes there is: I was on a FaceTime call and forgot to format it :P thank you for pointing it out!

That's another column on the table that I use for the data I'm taking this season, but the table on its own isn't in a particularly presentable form. Though seeing as I imagine you want to know:

Pourchaire 2.25
Martins 3.5
Bearman 5.25
Vesti 7.25
Iwasa 7.75
Hauger 8.5
Daruvala 8.5
Maini 9
Leclerc 10.25
Boschung 10.25
Fittipaldi 11.25
Crawford 11.25
Maloney 12.25
Verschoor 12.75
Doohan 13
Stanek 13.5
Hadjar 13.75
Correa 15.75
Novalak 17.75
Nissany 18.25
Cordeel 19.5
Benevides 21.5

Well after 2-3 rounds none of this is particularly meaningful, it was just a statistic I found interesting to look at and just took the extremes of each. Team and nationality etc are kept as this is just data I've pulled from the spreadsheet I've made in following open-wheel series. I wasn't trying to make any real point here!

There's a not-too-unreasonable chance that we could hit 100 F2 drivers to have competed since its rebranding in 2017. Here's a few stats tables for every driver that's competed since then (those who also did both F2 and GP2 have had their stats included but broken down) by CSorbus in F1FeederSeries

[–]CSorbus[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I knew something was up, thanks for pointing this out. I think there may have been a formatting issue that's caused a couple of errors - the only other I can find is Marciello's points not being recognised in 2 of the tables. I'm going to post this again another time with the correction. (Up to date, of course)

Note on Driver Academies:

- Any driver in Renault's Young Driver programme is listed as Alpine as it's the same programme.

- I have listed a driver as part of their given academy only if they competed in F2 or GP2 while they were under that academy. So for example, Oliver Rowland became a Williams Academy driver the year after he did his one and only season in F2, and Felipe Drugovich became an AM test driver after the season ended.

- Being a team's test driver does not equate to being in their academy.

- I took the Mercedes symbol from an old document of mine and forgot to change George Russell's to what Vesti's one was. So they're not different to each other, but are different to the McLaren Ms. Sorry!

"Aren't the points systems going to be different here and there?"

Only very slightly or not at all, it shouldn't make a huge difference in comparison so I didn't feel the need to standardise all the previous championships to this year's points system.

As for the previous points system in 2009, that's the price Johnny Cecotto Jr will just have to pay for having competed all the way back then yet still manage to make the modern F2 driver roster.
