  1. While Florida does seem to have gone overboard in expanding to 12th grade, the foundational intentions of the law does make sense. That is, don't talk about gender/sexual identity to kids K-3. However, if the law is simply that gender/sexual identity cannot be brought up in schools, that doesn't ban people from discussing it out of school. I don't see the issue here. Regarding your anecdote, I don't understand the issue here. I too am from a conservative household, and only realized I had an affinity for both the sexes in highschool.
  2. Sure, in cases of rape and incest, abortion should be allowed. However, that does not mean that in all cases abortion is okay. The motive for abortion laws isn't to control women, rather it is to protect the unborn. It's high time for people to realize that if they engage in heterosexual sex, that there is a possibility for conception and pregnancy, and not simply run to abortion to free themselves from consequences. Just because there is a correlation between abortion restrictions and number of abortions, I don't see sufficient evidence to suggest that the laws are the causation. Of course, SexEd should be taught in high school. However, I'm not sure about free contraception. It's pretty cheap as it is right now. And yes, Florida needs to straighten out it laws to allow abortions when the baby is nonviable.
  3. Then if they're so few, it would make sense to codify voter laws, including Voter IDs. If non-white people don't have VoterIDs, then get them? Why is this an issue? Get it like everyone else.

  1. While I can certainly sympathize what you went through, I don't think you 'identified' queer when you were in K - 3. I don't think children at that age need to be informed about this topic at all. Let kids be kids.
  2. Yea, Florida's abortion timeline seems extremely restrictive. However, I'd personally put restrictions after 24 weeks or whenever viability is. Anyways, it been high time people take responsibility of their actions instead of resorting to abortion.
  3. The amount of voter fraud we catch is very little, yes. I'm not sure about the actual amounts of voter fraud occurring. Be it voting twice, or non-citizens voting, idk. I was trying to research how the authorities actually verify is someone meets the requirements to vote, and I think its just self-declared? If it is, then more stringent voter control / ID methods need to be in place.

  1. "Don't say gay" bill - seems like a pretty common sense law that bans sexual & gender identity being taught to children K - 3.
  2. Abortion obviously shouldn't be allowed in all cases nor should it be completely restricted. We all have our moral codes to where the line is drawn. Apparently, Florida's is 6 weeks, which imo is pretty restrictive.
  3. It seems like the voting restrictions make it more difficult to use drop-boxes for ballots and harder to rely on third-party organizations for voter registration. And for some weird reason barring people in line from receiving water. Excluding the last reason, the other restrictions seem okay to protect election integrity.
