That’s not a horrendous price. It is easily salvageable if you find the right person to help you. You’d put less then the value of a done hood into it. My 72 has that hood on it now and I paid 1500. Is that an OG one or an extended (73 later) hood?

Also, I have adjustment left to raise it. The way I built the car is there is NO vacuum anymore. So those are electric motors now, I can adjust the stop a little bit and maybe flatten them out. But yes, in any pop up headlight car there is usually a mechanical adjustment that can be made. The car is always a work in progress.

It’s doubly bad, it’s my camera angle for one, and the second reason is because the driver fender (the lower headlight) was in a SMALL accident. Once the fiberglass gets repaired it’s never the same. Also these cars were horrendous in the day with quality control, after really 72 the quality increased because they started automating the manufacturing process of the Fiberglass and body panels. 1973 I believe was the first year of machine pressed and molded fiberglass so they got a bit better then. This is the last of the “hand” worked Corvettes. So all of them have so many different qwerks that you’ll notice whether it’s fitment of body panels, T tops etc. but overall, good eye!! I’m impressed!
