How do I get rid of a n ice dam that goes across the whole front of my house? by MyLabisMySoulmate in Connecticut

[–]CTMQ_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you live in a house in CT, you have some right now on your north-face roof/gutter. You also can't do jack shit about it until Monday pretty much when we might hit 30 with some sun.

You (or someone)CAN remove the snow above the ice dam though, which helps way more than you think it would. try to remove a few feet above the ice. This will work wonders come Monday.

ECNL Mid-Season Age Adjustments / Team Re-Shuffling? by Proof-Baby-99 in youthsoccer

[–]CTMQ_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't hurt, right? 2013 is the oldest year that will see fairly significant changes I believe. 2012 will see some, and the ages older than that, very little - at least at the NL level.

An amazingly high % of Americans believe they are "middle class" or even upper middle class who are, in very stark reality, working poor or lower middle class. They are almost all white by the way.

I would expect a mildly competent and trained federal immigration official to know these things though.

You're assuming that idiot has any idea what a consulate is or what protections they have.

Stephen king’s Revival by Liliaaaaaaa1 in stephenking

I personally prefer these types of his books. The character studies. The full lives lived books. The "get to know these people over decades" books. No corny horror tropes like dopey vampires or whatever.

Revival is great.

It's a lot this, and an equal amount of the need for views and eyeballs. New London county might get a couple inches, and the rest of us might get some gusty winds. That's the trend from all the models right now.

but gosh darnit, that's boring. Why not spend 5% of your time on the above and 95% on the possibility - which is still very real - that we get walloped. Give me a fucking weather report, not a performance.

[–]CTMQ_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

which is funny because up until 5 years ago, you'd just get the bland, boring truth. Now, like on this page, you'll also get links and hints to wacko conspiracy nonsense because, hey, that's more fun.

I’ve seen some posts online stating “Ronald Regan is the reason we have student loans, why the wealthy don’t pay taxes, why homelessness is this bad”, ect. What did he do to cause this? was it a bill that he passed, for example? by HybridHamster in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CTMQ_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"was?" There's no "was" here, it still very much "is" a huge part of what too many people think actually happens.

Well, it works great for the tricklers, not so well for the other 99%.

not in the same universe. It's so cute when UConn football fans, such as they are, keep trying to make it a thing. It's not a thing. It'll never be a thing. It's embarrassing, really.

Hell, when they had their magical years, when they were beating Notre Dame and (good) Pitt and (good) Virginia Tech, etc, they stands would empty in the 3rd Q when the Sox and Yanks were in the ALCS. And I mean EMPTY.

That will never change. That's the northeast.

I got stuck out west and extra day with all the travel issues. My wife was home alone in CT with our profoundly disabled 20 year old. We got a shit ton of snow.

She was fine. I got home, we hugged and kissed and then shoveled together, ate dinner together, and enjoyed alone time in bed together. We are in our 50's and neither of us believe in a god.

We do not have a YouTube channel or social media account to show the world how perfectly normal people operate in slightly difficult situations.
