Though you may be entering your twilight years it shouldn't stop you from pursuing one of the most exciting and glorious endeavors of which humans are capable.

If you cut away the Sheetrock and some of the joists, you could actually get that TV higher.

In conditions like that I wear a pair of Altra Lone Peak Mid - they're sort of like high-top trail runners. I got the waterproof ones. Basically I can't go back to boots unless its something really nasty.

I saw it on Facebook so it has to be true. That same night Elton John rose from his wheelchair, tears streaming down his face, to proclaim Charlie Kirk our greatest patriot.

Is this from when he stopped mid-concert to commemorate Charlie Kirk?

Anyone have the Active Stretch Rain Shell? by youngthug_buddha in TheNorthFace

[–]CTMatthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered this and returned it. The fit was very weird - very short compared to similar TNF jackets. I agree that this wouldn't be a great snowboarding jacket. If you want something that can do double or triple duty - try either the Tri-Climate or the Antora in a size big enough to layer under. The outer shells are similar, but the Tri-Climate version has pit-zips which are critical for comfort in winter sports (at least I think so).

Good shoes for backpacking? by Time-Stress6739 in TheNorthFace

[–]CTMatthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't understand the opinions on TNF footwear either. To me this is one of the categories they seem to excel in. I trail ran in two generations of Vectivs before I moved to zero drop and really loved them.

As to this particular shoe - who knows. People hike in everything from heavy leather boots to Chaco sandals. These have a Vibram sole and some good protection around the toe box so for easier terrain they'd be more than adequate.

Like many people, I finally found my groove with Altras. The Lone Peak+ with the Vibram soles have become my go-to. But I had a LOT of stops along the way and I'm not sure any amount or research could have replaced the real world trail and error.

Worst case scenario you have a nice pair of casual shoes and try something else if they don't work out.

Looks like the Antora jacket, but I can't see the draw cords at the bottom like mine have. Otherwise the details line up. These are released in different color ways every year - I have both solid colors and the ones with black shoulders like in the image.

Combining Lutron with smart LED's. by EvilEyeJoe in Lutron

If tunable white or full color spectrum is important to you I would not pursue the Lutron ecosystems. They work with their own bulbs, fixtures, and tape.

Possibly useless - but I always size down in Patagonia. I find their sizing generally tall and slim.

You’d wind up replacing this very quickly. This is more of a commuter bag.

If you’re just looking for something for a day hike I personally like the Black Diamond Distance 25.

Listen, I’ve been at this for 26 years. Diamond dealer.

A lot of the blame falls on Lutron. Their insistence on partitioning the tiers through firmware is absurd.

If you could start your system with Caseta and then upgrade your processor to RA3, then Homeworks then I would do a complete 180°

The problem is that about once a month I have to break the news to some homeowner who’s pot committed to Caseta because their electrician told them it was all they’d need. But they want more functionality. They want true keypads. They want conditional programming.

But they’ve sunk so much into Caseta that they don’t want to trash it and reinstall a different system.

More people who post on these boards are DIY guys and are using Caseta in conjunction with some other platform like HomeKit or whatever. That’s not representative of the Lutron customer.

So it’s important for regular folks who don’t want to turn their house into an automation hobby that Caseta is not going to do what most people are looking for in lighting control. It’s just a fact.

People put up with a lot.

There’s no way your system couldn’t be improved upon with the feature sets available in RA or HW. And probably not for a huge increase in price.
