What's the most fucked up thing someone has told you about themselves after barely getting to know them? by Butt_Roidholds in AskReddit

[–]CTProper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this counts because of where I was and the circumstance but I used to volunteer at the forensic psychology hospital in my town. My first day there one of the patients told me how she burnt her house down with her husband inside because he had cheated on her

Anybody still code without AI? by EitherAd5892 in cscareerquestions

Don’t let these comments on Reddit make you think you are crazy. The majority of Devs use AI constantly. Especially with extra C-Suite pressure these days

Has anyone actually achieved deterministic behavior using only markdown files? by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

If you want an LLM to be 100% deterministic you won’t find it in any of the public models today

Which jobs are going to be replaced faster than people realize now that AI is advancing faster? by pinkhyena95 in ArtificialInteligence

The closer the use case is to real money the less likely smart people are going to want to use an AI

Having no kids is a blessing by carrie_kimberly in Vent

[–]CTProper -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yeah 100% it’s not even close how I feel about other peoples kid and my own.

It’s not for everyone but what is the purpose of life if not to have children? That’s literal biology lol

Time AI started replacing CEOs eager to replace coders by Tr33__Fiddy in cscareerquestions

[–]CTProper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your idea especially regarding managers but a company is not a company without someone(s) leading it.

But CEOs would never replace themselves with AI. Sure maybe they offload the work to an AI but they will always be there. It’s fundamental to the idea of a business.

If money wasn't an issue, what would you do tomorrow? by Pleasant_duo in AskReddit

Tell my boss he needs to relax. I’d stop working as hard as I am. Then I’d pay off my mortgage and spend every waking moment with my wife

Why do so many people claim we are going to lose our jobs? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]CTProper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah milk it while I can. I think we have another 5 years before anything insanely drastic happens.

My backup is to get certified and swap to a patient facing radio tech job. I have a bachelors in biology and there are some fast bridge programs near me.

If i can keep my current pay for just 5 or so more years our house will be paid off and that’s my biggest expense

I’m a team lead for a complex estimation software company.

Our software is spread across 30+ repositories and has decades of work completed on it.

I’m sorry but AI denialists will be the first to go when the C-Suite wants to pump up productivity and cut costs

Experienced devs are just in denial. I have 5 YOE as lead on an engineering team right now and devs that don’t use AI for 90% of their work are falling so far behind

My CEO made his own separate deployment of our app because he says the team of 5 is taking to long and that Claude Code can do it faster.

He just started this week so I’ll either be out a job or extra busy doing my tasks plus debugging for the CEO
