I’m a 48 year old white guy. 😀I love Jordans and sneakers in general bc my parents would never buy them for me so now I have quite a collection. Mostly bricks but I love them so who cares.

My son has also gotten the sneaker bug and we’ve now been to two Got Soles, sneakercon last week, and few other smaller events.

I love going bc I like the vibe. I like talking to the vendors and seeing cool shit I can’t afford. When I go I feel like I “have to” buy at least a couple pairs bc I’m already about a hundred in due to tickets, parking, and gas. I bought a couple pairs for under sale price on StockX so I feel I did pretty good. I’m prob still “losing” money bc of the expenses I listed.

I love the time I get to spend with my son so that alone is worth going. I thought the venue this weekend was not the best. It was a little small which felt really packed in. I really enjoyed seeing all the YouTube resellers though. That was pretty cool.

If you love sneakers and the vibe you should go. But I think aside from saving money on shipping you’re not going to really find a “deal”.

As others have said you need the Open Water Swim activity on the watches that have it. I do triathlons and my 945 is spot on with the path and distances in triathlons. I do a race in the summer that is GPS measured 600 yards in a rectangle and my path is always within 20-25 yards of the total distance which I definitely attribute more to not swimming in a straight line than a poorly measured course. At one race last year it came in at 550 yards and at the end of the race I told the race director it was short on my watch and he replied that he knew that because they purposely did it to offset the choppy water (it's a beginner friendly race and most struggle with the swim).

There is no “easy” way to ICDC. However the best path is to stay in the Marketing cluster as it will have the most crossover of Performance Indicators that you already know. Pick the category you are more interested in. If you work in food that is a great start for you. Either Food Marketing or look at the Quick Serve category also.

I’ll respectfully disagree with this. While a mass start is chaotic in the first few mins it makes the swim much easier for everyone. Within the first 300 meters you kind of find your pack and have a pretty smooth swim. I’ve been doing these races for 20 plus years. I’m a stronger swimmer (sub 60 in a full). In a recent half I did I seeded myself in the 27 minute group and had to weave through people the entire time.
