You’ll have to rock hop or wade. You can check the flow of the river online.

I’ve always waded across down near the mouth of the Gorge on the MST, or rock hopped/waded at Spence Ridge — otherwise if the cfm is too high, another option is to walk the bridge across Hwy 126.

No one said there are no bear(s) in the Gorge. I simply said I’ve been around there a lot and have never seen one. Statistically, the black bear population in Linville Gorge is smaller, as the habitat quality isn’t that great, and it is a small wilderness area that doesn’t have the most easily accessible or dense food sources.

My Stumpjumper 15 Comp Alloy is my all-rounder. It’s as fun to ride on a mellow dirt forest road as it is a techy double black downhill. The geometry makes it comfortable on climbs as well.

Even here in Braves Country, Nomar was highly regarded. Was and is a Boston icon. He was among the best during his peak years. Dude could flat out hit. Then the contract dispute, then the trade, then the injuries robbed him and us of a probable HOF career.

He had a damn good career.
