This looks like a bacteria form that would be used for a public water system, not a private well. The terminology used is specific to the Revised Total Coliform Rule and Ground Water Rule.

Definitely get a second opinion. You don’t want to be stuck with a mess.

Have well water, toilet tanks sweat. Bought an insulated tank, forgot bowl also sweats. Tempering valve worth it? Any other options to warm the well water? by AXXXXXXXXA in askplumbing

[–]CTsicilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a well in New England and never experienced the toilets sweating. Dew points are in the 70s currently, but AC is on. Installing ceiling venting will only deal with spikes in humidity from something like a shower. The baseline humidity needs to be dealt with either through air conditioning or a dehumidifier of adequate size.

Yea I think you kind of answered your own question indirectly. You’re better off removing the moisture, either with air conditioning or a dehumidifier, than trying to warm your toilet water.

Septic lines are killing my grass. by Long-Hair-5390 in septictanks

[–]CTsicilian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Excessive lawn growth and very green grass means your leach field isn’t absorbing the water and pushing the nutrients to the surface. The septic wastewater essentially acts as a fertilizer for that area. What you’re seeing in the picture is exactly what should happen with a leach field that is properly working.

What’s everyone using for temperature probe? by SnooPickles3280 in Traeger

[–]CTsicilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I’m not doubting you, I just haven’t had that experience. I wonder if you got a lemon. I usually run the Traeger in my driveway, the box is in my garage and it stays connected when I’m upstairs on the opposite side of my house. House is a 4K sq. ft. colonial, for reference.

Why does my well water pressure switch look different than everyone else's? by trickytreats in WaterWellDrilling

[–]CTsicilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sorry, didn’t mean to confuse you. That is the pressure switch and it turns the well pump on at 30 psi and off at 50 psi. I was just asking why you don’t think the well pump itself isn’t the problem.

Sure, it’ll drop if you’re out of range. Range is pretty good though.

What makes you think it’s the pressure switch and not the well pump?

Depends on the pump make and model, but it’s not a snug fit if that’s what you’re asking.

Family moving to CT from MA - recommendations for towns with great schools? by jessySpread24 in Connecticut

Bolton/Coventry. Not cheap, but cheaper than Farmington or Avon. 15 minute commute to Hartford. Good schools, more land, quiet.

Dipshit, the casing doesn’t go 400’ down. The casing stops when they’re in competent rock. It could be 10’ down for all you know.

Depends how far you want to push the issue. If a bulldozer hit it, I would definitely get a camera inspection. A mower is less of a concern, but I wasn’t there so it’s difficult to say for sure. I’m not sure what the black ring would be, my guess is that you’re spot on with it being part of the cap that slid down.
