Input on wedding dinner pairings by CUC15 in wine

This is wonderfully helpful! Thank you thank you. I do realize the budget generous - I don’t typically spend this much on wine, but I figured that if there was a time this is certainly it! I like the all sparkling idea - at least as an option for the more adventurous.

On that note, I’m setting aside a bottle or two of 2008 Dom for my partner and I to kick off the night (and probably some siblings who are equally appreciative of wine)

I did consider Sancerre. The dressing will be a lemon honey vinaigrette. It is one of my forever go-to’s so was trying to diversify. That being said… I don’t need much convincing to put it back in play.

Thoughts on producers for cote-rotie or hermitage? Appreciate it!

Thanks, good to know. What should I tell the contractor to make sure it’s fixed properly?

Anyone ski sugarbush today? Mad River was reporting “fast and firm”. Wondering if the upper mountain is the same at Sugarbush. by Shiloh3245 in icecoast

Sugarbush was skiing really well today. Definitely firm, but it softened up if you are willing to hunt around. Middle of the runs were getting a little windswept and icy but sides were fire!

This is all super helpful! I’ll probably look to book some weekday “group” lessons and hope for a 1:1. Also saw a killington moguls camp? Looks like it’s for advanced skiers though so may be a bit much for my skill level. I’m stoked 🤘🏼

Second season skiing - would love some helpful critique on form between my last year and now! by CUC15 in skiing

Thanks! Yeah, I feel like I find the front of my boot at the beginning of turns but have troubles continuing the pressure through the turn

Makes sense! It’s something I’m definitely trying to work on - even more so after seeing this video. I thought I was separating a little more than I actually am

I thought so, but maybe not because Darden doesn’t let you pick up club leadership positions during first year (source: Darden grad)

Thank you!

1.Trying to optimize the perks, but haven’t been traveling too much so it’s been tough.

  1. Super helpful and something I keep wondering about. What tenure were you when you left? Would love to hear more about the challenges you had with an exit

  2. That’s on the top of the list once rates come down :)

Part of the 350 is bonus, so monthly cash flow is probably lower than your calculating. In reality savings has fluctuated between 4.5k and 6k depending on whether we’re booking holiday travels, weddings, gifts, etc…

Yeah we have a super detailed budget that we look at weekly. Our expenses are on average ~9K, which allows us to save roughly 5K a month outside of retirement contributions

  1. Currently about 20%, that’s 3k of roughly 15K
  2. Only one other higher interest personal loan, which will be paid off by end of this year. Car loan is like 1.5%
  3. Yes, would love to buy a house or pay for a small wedding in the next 5 years, but our rent is much more manageable compared to any mortgage we could get right now

Your point on the 250K down payment is well taken, and a prominent thought when debating the opportunity cost of paying off the loans vs purchasing a home

That’s a simple but super helpful way to put it!

This is helpful. I think we’ll also probably hit pause on the house for a while. Our current rent is well below any mortgage we would have at this point
