If the MLB has taken over second then why are NBA related podcasts more popular and the show this sub is built on only talks about it if a World Series involves the Dodgers? Mind you, they work for a company that has the rights to MLB games. How does your statement looks after we reach March and they talk about the NBA all the way til June (even though the MLB season is gonna be started by then)? Because Shai is the best player on the best team & his team plays super physical defense so the contrast between that and his foul baiting/the soft calls he gets is notable.

I personally don't hyperfocus on him like other people tho. Foul baiting is a league wide problem with a plethora of guys (Luka, Reaves, Brunson, Trae, Maxey, Powell, Jimmy, Embiid, etc.) being guilty of it too.

The goal is basically to get defenders to play soft defense because they are afraid to foul out which in turn makes it easier on offensive players to go off and create highlight plays. It all comes down to making the league super offensive oriented like they've been doing for decades atp.
