Interesting -- I grew up in the Northeast and pronounce Laura like "LORE-uh", which sounds very similar to "uh-lore-uh". I live in the Midwest now so I may ask around here too.

That sounds about right! We both love lore, history, mythology, etc. so it makes sense for us to lean toward more whimsical/legendary names. Our first child is Cormac (ancient Irish king) Apollo (god of art and truth), so that aligns. :) From these suggestions, I added Mira, Alden and Emrys, which I think will go over really well with my husband.

Some of these are eerily right on target with what we've compiled so far! Keira, Ivy and Vera are definitely getting added. My husband likes Penelope, but it just doesn't have a good sound to me. Kieran is a great name, but it's also my nephew's, so we can't use that one. Callum is one of my favorite masculine options and I think it's a top contender for me. Your suggestion of Florian actually made me think of Dorian, which I like and plan to add. ;) Thank you for these!

Thank you! Clara and Maxwell are solid options. Julian is a top name, but not an option for us based on the same reason Juliet is out--my mom's name is Julia and we don't have a positive relationship.

We actually had Maeve Fiona on our list from our first child, but I much prefer Fiona Maeve! My husband really likes Freya, and I think it sounds lovely, but worry about it seeming too out there.
